GORRAM REAVERS! A "freeform boardgame" coming soon!
Sunday, December 18, 2005

Here's a sneak peek at my newest game idea. One of the unique design features of the game is that it is a "freeform" boardgame, meaning no actual board is required, all you need is any space such as a table, floor, fridge(if you attatch them to magnets!), hood of a car, or even a control panel (assuming the dinos make room!). Object of the game is that YOU are Reavers and your pack is the best pack in the 'Verse at Reaving (is that even a word? LOL!) in order to survive! Not shown (cuz they ain't final yet, are the Reaver Ship (27) & Reaver Pack (108) Card decks.

DISCLAIMER: The designer of this game (ME) does not condone the recreational use of PAX, nor the casual raping, eating, and skinning of individuals, real or imagined, as some and/or all of the aforementioned are illegal almost everywhere in the 'Verse.

Look at some of these testimonials:

"Pain is scary." - Jayne Cobb

"Now I'm learning about scary!" - Hoban Washburne

"Morbid and creepifyin' I got no problem with..." - Captain Malcolm Reynolds

"Bragglagglarr garrr ragglagglarr arrgrr!" - Anonymous Reaver

LOL -- this gave me a good laugh. Are you actually designing a game, or did you just make this imagine in good fun? :-)

if harpoons, human flesh and pax are sold seperately, do grenades cost extra? Ha!

I take my fun seriously, so:

I *AM* designing this game. This *IS* for real. :)

Grenades do cost extra...well, unless you get BWAH!: The Violence Ensues when I release it soon too. ;)

I found the testimonials funnier than the game!

Priceless.

Well, the game is on the serious side in the fact that it will be a playable game, and the above pic is only a sample of the game pieces.

There is, of course, a tounge-in-cheekness to the game itself, and when you see the actual cards, I think you will see the funny side of this game.

One of the things I like about the design of this game is the gameboard will ALWAYS be different everytime you play.

Once completed, it will be available, as always, for free download, for all Browncoats, Purplebellies, and red-blooded Reavers!

p.s. Glad y'all like the testimonials, as I said, I like to have fun with my seriousness. ;)

Joss Whedon BWAH! card - FFF.net re-release
Updated with the new link for my Firefly games, the original was only available to those who attended a special advanced screening of Serenity in Cincinnati, but now everyone can have one! I've tagged it with the FireflyFans.net addy as well to identify it as the new copy.

Visit the link on the card to download any and all games I've developed, available for FREE, as always, to all my fellow Browncoats. Thanks for carrying me all these years. :) You guys are the finest bunch of Rubens in the 'verse.

HAPPY INDEPENDENTS DAY!
A variant, again, because I can. Share it if you like it :)

HAPPY INDEPENDENTS DAY!
Because I could. :)

Captain Castle
A fellow Browncoat, goes by Watcho, was telling me how her sister was now watching Firefly because of Nathan Fillion in Castle. She retorted with "He was my Captain before he was your Castle", and lo, a new design was born in that moment. You can find this design in the old TCM SPACE BAZAAR at: http://www.cafepress.com/10thcrew/743568 or, if you're handy with an iron, as your legend tells, print it out and iron it on your own self. Enjoy!

Apples to Griswolds
Been out of the (game making) world a while, but I got a request late last year from a very dear friend, so I am making it a reality for them...and you! This is just the teaser. And there will be at least be at one rule in my version there isn't in the original Apples to Apples game. All I'll say is there'll be a little...*pop* ;)

Also, at the behest of fans, both past and current, I'm only doing this up in grayscale in order to go easy on printing because there'll be A LOT of cards, and I don't want to eat up folks' printer ink.

Firefly Valentines (blast from the past)
More of the same, only different. ;)

Firefly Valentines (blast from the past)
Dug these up, made 'em years back. Sharing again for you!

Dozens of planets and hundreds of moons...
This is a digital work I did for an assignment for school (yes, I'm in school, try not to faint). Anyway, while it isn't done up with Firefly related images, Firefly certainly was my inspiration. My line of thought was what might it be like to see through the eyes of a deep space probe looking down onto a new world.

Anyway, I hope you like it, I worked very hard on this (and got an "A" by the way!)

TCM's Cargo Bay Ball Boardgame - Coming Soon!
Okay, so I've been out of the world a while, but that hasn't diminished my love for two things: Firefly and gaming! So here's a sneak peek at the playtest version of what I've been working on while I've been gone. Cargo Bay Ball is a multiplayer strategy action game, based off the episode Bushwhacked where the crew is playing a homemade basketball-esque game, in the cargo bay of your favorite Firefly class transport. One of my favorite features of this game is the random aspect of both a loose ball, and a goal that hangs freely and thus rotates during gameplay. This is, aside from subject material, an original game of my design, and unlike anything I've ever played (and hopefully the same for you!) Once you've got the rules down, which doesn't take long, you can play a 3-on-3 game in under 45 minutes, as the game is always "in motion".

Kiss Me I'm Fireflyrish - dug out of the archives...
For the Firefly and St. Patty's day fans out there rolled into one. Using the Cilantro leaf Joss was so fond of, and the classic "Kiss me" quote, we have this gem I made about 3 years ago!
