Written as if speaking to Joss Whedon. A poem that came to me as I was sitting, thinking about the show and movie.

Ode to a Firefly

Joss Whedon

"For this is your life, your breath,

your very soul.

All who see it look into your soul and see the light and love that can be found within.

They take that glimmering specter into themselves and it becomes a part of them,

suffusing them with the shared joy of all things beautiful.

Never shall any be the same as always were for they have taken and, therefore, given unto greatness.

The body grows as those who have partaken pass on the torch to those they love.

For who, having become a part of great works, would begrudge their neighbor the same delight?

Woe to those who have known it not, to those who have blinded themselves to it's brilliance.

For they shall not know the glory that arises within.

Woe also to those who should see the dream end.

For when should such a masterpiece be seen again?

True delight was seen in this world! Now that it is gone the masses shall mourn for eternity!"
