Homework number 5!!!! it had to use a borrowed phrase....

CATEGORY: FILK    TIMES READ: 1971    RATING: 9    SERIES: FIREFLY

Sometimes, when you win, you lose

You’re left alone in the end

Separate from those you loved

Sometimes, when you win, you lose

Because you’re the symbol

The reason strength is hard

The problem that started it all

Sometimes, when you win, you lose

Because you can’t join

And you leave them all alone

Sometimes, when you win, you lose

You remind them of what was

What could have been at one time

And the pain that was felt by all

Sometimes, when you win, you lose

Because you remain on the pedestal

With your gold metal

Because you were too weak to fall

To let yourself hurt

Sometimes, when you win, you lose

The only one to stand in the end

Over the gravestones

To cry for everyone else

But yourself

Sometimes, when you win, you lose

Unable to say your thank-yous

For all the little things they gave you

Sometimes, when you win, you lose

Because its not about understanding

Its about not giving up

Wow...other than a single etymological error (5th stanza has 'where' instead of 'were'), this was utterly brilliant, Slice:D
