I don't leave a comment on every image but I almost always think the same two things: damn that's good and why isn't this guy hired to do this?

mphillips, you need a Firefly story to illustrate.
You've got the ambition. I can see that from your blog on March 22, which says:
"I am currently working on ... a firefly short story done comic style but in my sepia technique. Hope it works out ok. ... I think if I have a beginning, middle and end it'll work out better than a continuing strip..We'll see how it goes..." http://www.fireflyfans.net/showblog.asp?b=3617

What you need is a good story. I suggest http://www.fireflyfans.net/bluesun.aspx?bid=5185
"River knows that Miranda wasn't the only secret they had." This story is the best fan fiction I've seen. The first third of the story is boring but has a great middle part and ending. It seems like it was meant to be filmed or illustrated. It's 3000 words long, which means something needs to be cut from the story or the story needs simplifying. But it's always better to have too much story and cut it down to size than too little and try to stretch it out. As long and wordy as the story is, it still leaves plenty of room for you, mphillips, to be creative with the comic.

I was just re-reading what I wrote; I have gone too far. This story could be the first twenty minutes of Serenity Two! This is a very ambitious project that would keep you drawing and lettering for weeks, months. You'd have to edit the story before you can even start drawing. But it is a good story. So that the story would stand up on its own without the reader having seen the Serenity movie, you'd have to add more drawings to the story - in particular, a scene to show River's motivation: Wash's death and Zoe's grief.

CANTONHEROINE

It is a exquisitely graphic scene (in all senses of the word), and you've captured it perfectly as always.
