TENTHCREWMEMBER

As a person who has worked many hours of overtime w/o pay (such is the life of a salaried employee), I won't put up with it anymore. Once in a while, fine. Specific times of the year, like working retail at Christmas, fine. Because my superior is a moron and can't do *thier own* job, nope, never again. Yeah it made my life a little tougher when I quit, but at least I am not having ulcers and psychotic episodes anymore, well, no ulcers anyway... ;)

DIETCOKE

As a Human Resources / Training professional I am just sickened by this kind of treatment of employees. Managers don't realize that this is counter productive, and that employees simply can not sustain a high level of productivity working that many hours.

Short periods of crunch, yep, we've all been there. But this is unacceptable and I hope this person's spouse quits and explains in a letter to the president of the company just why s/he quit.

GOJIRO

That is friggin' nuts. That person's spouse should have quit a long time ago.

I would offer to boycott EA products, but I don't own any kind of gaming system. Even my computer -- a Mac -- isn't compatible with most video games, and I love it for that very reason.

I learned long ago that I am easily addicted to computer games. I just can't afford to spend hours and hours in front of a glowing box, pushing buttons like a crack-addicted monkey.

But I digress. Working those kind of hours for no overtime pay or comp time -- well, I just don't see why people do it. Hopefully, this person's spouse will come to her senses soon and quit.
