Christmas ficlet - was it that bad?
Monday, December 26, 2011

Okay. I don't get it. My little fic has been read, but nobody here has commented. Now, I write because I want to, because I have stories in my head that I want to get down onto the screen, and I know it shouldn't matter if people don't comment. Maybe I'm more sensitive than I should be, but I use reviews to let me know I'm on the right track, as well as that people have enjoyed my work. I know this time of year a lot of folks don't have the space to read fanfic, but it has been read - so I fear the worst. I have had a few problems this year with writing, finding it hard to get motivated, to sit down and get my fingers working, but I will try to be better in the coming months. I enjoyed writing Christmas Gift, and I thought you'd enjoy reading it. Guess maybe I was wrong.

Sorry. Feeling a bit sorry for myself. And I am too sensitive - everybody tells me that.

Sorry Jane, the story was great but Christmas was hectic. I enjoy your writing very much even though I don't do Rayne. I did enjoy Jayne getting Mal riled up. As far as keeping up with fic and life at the same time, something had to go.

Oh no, not bad at all. It's just a busy time of year. I posted some chapters at fanfiction dot net around the same time, and they have yet to be commented upon. Keep it up, Jane. I especially like your pieces that one doesn't have to know the whole context of your (wonderfully extensive) storyline to enjoy.

I read it, I thought it was funny. I think that you probably didn't need the last paragraph as it was a little confusing, and as someone else on the fic mentioned, I had to read parts of it several times because Mal said something that it sounded more like Jayne said.

Otherwise I'd say that it's probably more that people were really busy this weekend. And when I'm busy, I'll read then often come back later and try to comment when I have time to think it over (which is what happened with me).

Jane0904, you must stop reading now or else your feelings will be hurt.

Now that Jane0904 has stopped reading, I can be honest. This is a warning to potential readers of Christmas Gift by Jane0904. Futurama said it best: "Now that you have seen it, you cannot unseen it." Or as Jane0904 wrote in the story, "Gorramit, but I'm gonna have to wash my brain out."
