Hey all! Just thought I would pass along this fantastic little "getting to know me/you" icebreaker. Go ahead...copy and paste, and do your own!

1. High heels or boots?
Much as heels can definitely create a visual enhancement on certain parts of the female gender’s body, I prefer a sturdy pair or hiking boots or steel-toed romper-stompers ;)

2. What time did you get up this morning?
Uh…think it was about 1110 Zulu (11:10 AM Eastern for those not into the military side of things ;D)

3. What was the last film you saw at the cinema?
Alice In Wonderland 3D (yes, the Tim Burton one with Johnny Depp, Anne Hathaway and Helena Bonham Carter…I admit it, I caved to my female best friend’s puppy dog eyes)

4. What is your maiden name?
Lewis…same family name I’ve carried since I was officially listed as a legally-independent entity with rights and freedoms almost 27 years ago (rather than a foetus)

5. What is/are your favourite TV show(s)?
Honestly haven’t been watching much TV lately, which is ironic for someone who works for a satellite TV company…so I would have to say Chuck , Doctor Who , and Castle for currently airing shows. Have a whole laundry list of shows that are no longer on the air, with the top spot being Joss Whedon’s cruelly cancelled Firefly.

6. What do you usually have for breakfast?
Don’t eat breakfast much these days, but when I do? OJ or apple juice and a granola bar if it’s lazy-ish day, OJ or apple juice and toast if I have to go somewhere nearby, and OJ or apple juice and a Timmie’s breakfast sandwich if I am long-hauling somewhere.

7. What is your middle name?
Actually have two: Huw and Gwyn

8. What food(s) do you dislike?
Nothing really comes to mind…will honestly eat anything put in front of me.

9. What is your favourite CD at the moment?
Not really my favourite per say, but I listened to my 20th Century Masters collection of top songs of 1983 about 3 complete times when I was driving to and from Toronto on a trip recently.

Other than that? I find the majority of commercially released albums to be technically hit and miss, since I will love a few songs or audio tracks on an album, like a few others and the rest? Will either skip or mute the volume temporarily…doesn’t make much for “loving” an album. I guess the last album I was a fan boy over was The Best of James Bond (40th anniversary edition, I think), which is a collection of all the James Bond film themes up to Die Another Day plus a couple of related tracks.

10. What characteristic do you despise?
It’s a toss-up between egotism, stupidity and cruelty.

11. Favourite Clothing?
A tattered-looking fleece sweatshirt I got in my 2nd year of university. Was sort of my dorm job uniform, but it fits me so well and it’s warm in the right amount too!

12. Anywhere in the world on vacation?
Hmm…would love to explore Australia, and I really wanna see more of the US besides NYC (which is a great city, don’t get me wrong). Willing to go any place really if I had the chance…

13. Are you an organized person?
Technically not…I have orderly piles of junk and mess ;)

14. Where would you retire to?
Good question…part of me wants to say Wales because it’s where my dad’s family is from, it’s spectacular country to experience and it’s where the family I know and care about live right now (other than my dad and brother, who are here in Canada).

15. What was your most recent memorable birthday?
My most recent one (no. 26), where I got to celebrate it with all of my close family, including relatives I had not seen in the flesh if over 20 years…except my recently deceased mother. That was the one black cloud on an otherwise fantastic day...

16. What are you going to do when you finish this?
Laundry…haircut maybe…write an e-mail to my family overseas…not sure for certain other than the laundry thing ;)

17. Furthest place you are sending this?
Not actually sure…the UK I can answer with a definite but some of you could be living a lot further away than that.

18. Person you expect to send it back first.
Shona Budd

19. When is your birthday?
Monday, July 11th, 1983 @ 1942 EDT

20. Are you a morning person or a night person?
Night.

21. What is your shoe size?
11.5

22. Do you own any animals?
Not directly, but my father owns a male Chocolate Labrador Retriever named Dylan (whom I consider my pet).

23. Any news you'd like to share?
Recently ended up in my local ER (A&E for you Brits getting this) for an irregular heartbeat…seems to be ok now but still need to see a specialist. Other than that, nothing really major or note.

24. When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Journalist.

25. What is your favourite flower?
Roses or the leafy part of a leek plant, depending on the kind of mood I’m in ;)

26. What is a day on the calendar you are looking forward to?
Other than July 11th, 2010 – my 27th birthday – probably November 9th, 2010, when Call of Duty: Black Ops is released. What can I say, I am into all things military, I like history (and alternative history) and a rousing game of “zit popping” (aka delivering headshots) is a great stress release ;D

27. If you were a crayon, what colour would you be?
Some shade of green, I suspect.

28. How is the weather right now?
Sunny and all kinds of warm.

29. Last person you spoke to on the phone?
Sheilah O’Connor, head of the Toronto chapter of Can’t Stop the Serenity, relating to my volunteer duties for the group’s Anime North booth.

30. Favourite soft drink?
Coca-Cola Classic.

31. Favourite restaurant?
Outback Steakhouse (the portions are gigantic!)

32. Hair color?
Brown, with some natural blond highlights.

33. What was your favourite toy as a child?
Uh…think it was a Speak ‘n’ Spell, honestly. That or my tricycle.

34. Summer or winter?
Summer.

35. Chocolate or vanilla?
Vanilla.

36. Coffee or tea?
Tea.

37. Wish you were still young?
I’m still young enough that’s it’s only the odd occasion.

38. Do you want your friends to email you back?
Yes.

39. When was the last time you cried?
Couple of months ago, relating to an unknown skin problem that had only gotten worse at the time.

40. What is under your bed?
Other than an entire society of dust bunnies? A wheeled plastic storage tub where I keep extra toiletries and medicines.

41. What did you do last night?
Checked my e-mail, read...decompressed from a day of manning a convention booth.

42. Salty or sweet?
Sweet.

43. Best quality you have?
Compassion.

44. How many years at your current job?
Zero, since I’ve only been with my current employer for 10 months or so.

45. Favourite day of the week?
Saturday, since I still have weekend to waste ;)

46. How many people will you send this to?
Dunno the exact number…probably will just mass e-mail and see what happens. That and post it online at a Firefly fan forum ;)

47. How many will respond?
Might get some comments on forum.

48. Do you like finding out all this stuff about your friends?
Yes.

49. What do you collect?
DVDs and Xbox 360 games at the moment. Used to have shelves full of books and I still love them, but I’ve slackened back a bit.

50. Favourite quote?
"The revenge of the beaten comes in refusing to fall." – Captain Malcolm Reynolds, in "The Losing Side (Chapter 45)" by jetflair – It’s from Firefly fan fiction, admittedly…but I think it’s a mighty poignant look at loss not being the end in only a handful of words.
