And my last words on the subject. I apologise if my comment about Mal and Inara not getting together easily was taken the wrong way. In no sense at all did I mean that writers who love this 'ship are unskilled - I read their work too, and comment favourably. There are some absolutely marvellous writers giving Mal and Inara new life, and I enjoy all the stories around them too. I would never denigrate their work.

Enuff said. Done. And I'll continue to write Mal/Freya.

We need to STOP INSULTING EACH OTHER. Please?

Platonist is actually a good friend of mine, her strict adherence to canon is a godsend for me as a beta reader, because she can tell me if I'm way out in left-field.

Just as Jane is entitled to fans who praise her work, calling someone an Alliance mole and suggesting they go do SEX ACTS with their box set is kind of like using all those S F PH H words anyway.

Please stop.

My last statement here just so EVERYONE can see what exactly happened because of this BULL****. You have taken a personal log of someone and made them completely change it to suit your idea of what should be....over what? A TV show with characters that only exist on screen or in our minds. If you can't stand people taking your beloved characters and changing their outcomes....don't comment. It is the spirit of a fan fic...to write your own story and if someone wants to make a statement about it or a character in it, please just leave them alone. Thought that's why we have this site, to express our own feelings about the storyline and not tear down our fellow Browncoat because he or she has a different opinion, but then I guess I am completely wrong.

Welll... I wasn't gonna say anything more, but my impression is that Platonist went off at you, Jane, because of your comment about "not happening as easily as some writers make out." That suggests you think those authors are unskilled writers, and even though it's probably good that you were non-specific, on the other hand, in being non-specific, it almost sounds like you're saying that ALL Mal/Inara writers don't write believably. Coupled with some insinuations that other, newly introduced characters would be more suitable for Mal than Inara, and it kind of seemed like people were maybe attacking the pairing.

Jane, you have more fans than I know I ever will, people with different tastes will always need their Firefly fixes (for example, I am well aware that even though Inara is one of my favourite characters, plenty of people don't like her), and we have the authors around here to supply them that.

So... Yeah. Stuff got said, things blew up. Might be best for everyone to just try to forget this.

Ok.. this is where I must apologize to those wonderful writers that contribute to this fantasy world, In particular Jane0904, Briglad, BadKarma00, Angellemarcs, Bytemite, clio(smuse) and others that I haven't been able to enjoy..YET!! Please forgive me for what this no talent, tree hugging liberal (spelled Alliance) is spewing. If she was able to get her head out of the 'Box Set' long enough to get her brain cells some fresh air, I'm confident she would see her comments, and that's all she's good for, are psychotic, paranoiac, are unwanted. I'm sorry for her the 'Box set' doesn't come with batteries, but I can understand why her 'hubby' would be in a bar without her. Pop your aural lobes from your lower lumbar region and realize that those you have besmirched have actually written.. awesomely written... wonderfully written Fan Fiction (fiction being the operative word here lambytoes, in case you missed it) which is something YOU HAVEN'T Attempted!!!! Tolerate?? TOLERATE??
I think there is no-one not breathing vacume that would like to see the show relive again. To think that it is the beginning and the endall of this 'fractal verse' is arrogant to say the least. Have fun with your box set and if you think Josh wouldn't or ISN'T (we dont know he ISN'T a contributor here) having a swell of pride, knowing that his creative juice is the inspiration and motivation of so much talent on such a gran-de-ose scale?? YOU need to stop smoking what your selling.
Again I apologize to those of you that have, and will contribute to my smiles, angst, excitement, happiness, and sorrow, occasionally to the shed of a tear or two. Please.. don't let this alliance mole deter you from expressing yourselves and for my sake, let loose the Muse and continue to create.
On a closing note, I think we have found Patience.... Yes?

Sidebar: I do want everyone to take notice that I didn't.. NOT Once.. use the F, PH, S, W, (or in jayne's case) H words. Im cured.

Platonist, this isn't the place to be discussing things like this, but I think I have the right to say I don't appreciate your statement that Freya is 'tolerated'. I don't make people read my stories, and to say that my readership 'strokes my ego' is rude. There is a total of fifteen episode, one film and a couple of comics. I don't know what Joss Whedon had in mind - nobody does but him. I don't believe, however, that there wouldn't have been other characters introduced, and if I choose to write about one that I have created, that's my choice. If you don't want to read my stories, that's fine. You also have the right to say what you think, but I would suggest you weren't quite so patronising in doing so.

Castle is fluffy fun, and quite different to Firefly. Which is good, as if everything was the same we'd be subjected to nothing but reality TV shows. It doesn't mean that I can't enjoy both.

Maineaxe, I'm sorry your blog has been taken over by this. But keep reading.

"I don't ever see it happening as easily as some writers make out. And in the fractal 'verse of infinite possibilities, one of them is Mal turning to Freya, and I enjoy writing it."

Whoa, wait. You saying...? Wow, that's a twist. But I thought Freya had a few kids?

I think I got here late, I can't see what sparked this one. I'm a big Mal/Inara fan, as I tell pretty much EVEEERYBODY, to the point where it's probably getting old. I think that their relationship, fighting and all, is a realistic one and I love that about the two of them together. I think they'd fight a lot even after they got together, and it would be hard at first, but there's a storm-tossed ship I'd ride out to see. :)

And I absolutely LOVE that Inara stands up to Mal. She challenges him, and in challenging him, he's compelled to be a better person than he thinks he is/ can be. All part of the healing process.

Might be off topic, but since we seemed to be talking about ships, I just wanted to say why they're my OTP.

I also enjoy Castle... It's fun. I like how substantial and deep Firefly is maybe a little bit better, but then again I kind of have a gaping chest wound where my heart used to be in regards to Firefly and the cancellation, so maybe I'm a tad biased.

Well, everyone is entitled to their personal opinion, but you’re posting a log in a public forum on a FIREFLY FAN site. Fans of this show and Joss’s work do tend to read, comment, and post here.

I think we can all agree that Firefly was prematurely canceled for a number of reasons, but to suggest (this is how I interpret your comments) that Joss’s romance failed, where Castle succeeds, based on lack of chemistry between two main characters (Mal and Inara) is offensive to fans of this verse and only frustrates those of us that would give their right toe nail for the opportunity for Joss to add to HIS verse in the form of a sequel or a miniseries. Regardless of whether or not Mal and Inara ever sail off into the sunset together, Joss created an ensemble cast of characters that are layered, believable and lovably flawed that fans care about and show-up in droves at conventions to meet the actors that embodied such characters and brought them to life. From an artistic viewpoint, that’s got to be respected and revered, as I do.

As I said, I like Castle, also, the romance is fun, light, and whimsical. Is it powerful enough to make me think, warm my heart, char my bones, and bring me to tears, no, not really; only Firefly has that influence over my psychic.

Jane, I think everyone here has been fairly tolerant of Freya, if you enjoy writing her, by all means do it, you seem to have a readership of fans willing to stroke your ego, but Freya’s not a Whedon canon character because I can’t find her on the box set, movie, or place her anywhere in the verse. And Joss would never right anyone so PERFECT for Mal without killing her by the end of the show, see poor Nandi, for insights on that.

Blogs are for 'personal' thoughts - even if they engender somewhat heated comments from vertain individuals. I've had some of that myself, so I know whereof I speak. And I am just glad you're enjoying the Mal/Freya 'verse. As Angelle says, even at the end of Serenity Mal and Inara aren't together, and I don't ever see it happening as easily as some writers make out. And in the fractal 'verse of infinite possibilities, one of them is Mal turning to Freya, and I enjoy writing it.

As for Castle - I love the show (I write stories for it over at fanfiction.net if you haven'e already found them). I hadn't considered Stana Katic as Freya, but maybe if she was a little older, a little more worldly-wise ... with a flame tattoo of course!

And keep reading - and thank you so much for all your wonderful comments.

Thank you Angel... I did miss the mark on the Josh comment and when I realized it, I couldn't retract it.. I didn't realize the heat a miss step would release.. In the future I will, I guess, keep 'Personal' thoughts 'Personal'..:)

again.. Thank you for your comments.

Wow...someone needs to take a chill pill. This is just a personal blog meant to be well...personal. You're right, Joss doesn't do Castle, but it is still a great show and a common mistake. He does do Dollhouse...great show, btw.

As for Freya and fan fic, I know this will be completely taken the wrong way, but as of right now, Mal and Inara aren't a couple so if the show ever did come back, who knows what might come to past? So lay off and go back to watching your own boxset. Leave the spirit of the'personal' blog and this great person alone.

Maineaxe...though i do not share your idea for Frey as Nikki Heat from Castle, I still love Jane's stories. LOL!

I'm not sure what you are in implying...are you saying Nathan and Morena had no chemistry? Joss fired the first Inara specifically for this reason, and hired Morena the day he met her, which I happen to think was a brilliant choice. Maybe you’ve been reading too much fanfic, come back to this verse, and go watch your box set again.

By the way, Joss doesn’t write nor produce Castle. I like it too, but it’s a different show with different characters.
