And Now for Something (Sorta) Different

Different from my recent tridecennial, anyway, but not too different from something I've oft blogged about before.

And I'm not discussing matters of the heart, even though I have reason to obsess mildly over one.

'Where They Don't Follow' has been bugging me for the last two or three chapters. I'm not really satisfied with where it is or where it's headed, to the point that I haven't yet posted the latest chapter on LiveJournal. I kicked around the idea of throwing a dustcover over it and moving ahead to 'Love & War', with whose content and direction I'm quite satisfied, but there's a subplot in both stories that'll suffer from being skipped.

I had the same problem with 'Guns', and in fact, when it came up, I just tore down the three chapters I'd posted thus, and went a year without reposting until I'd thought of something better to write. As much as I would like to avoid doing the same thing with WTDF (or at least avoid going that long until the repost), I may have to hiatus it for a little while until I can superdetail the first few chapters. I don't think they have to be torn down, torn up, rewritten and reposted, they just have to be refined a little. So, if you're following it, I'm hopeful you won't give up on me - considering that I posted Chapter 5 over a week ago and no one has yet commented. After all, four out of five doctors agree that feedback is a quintessential supplement to the heart and soul.
