Bondage?
Tuesday, May 19, 2009

Good morning my fellow browncoaters

I’m not into the whole bondage thing but do people have to be bound to watch Firefly?

Just doing a little blog updating. About a month ago I’d just finished writing the 3rd chapter of my fan-fic “Hog Haven” then my computer “Crashed”. I will not say what came forth from my mouth at that time. I will say that Shepherd Book would not have been happy with me. Anyway, HOG HAVEN would likely have been a four or five chapter fic if completed. I don’t know that I’ll ever finish it. It may be one that will just have to float around out in the BLACKness of space.

I lost everything in that little crash. I rebooted the computer but there was no internet and all my story files were lost. I know, I know the smart thing is to back it all up. I ain’t the smartest fella in the state of Tx, there are four others that share this computer with me but I’m the one that has the most crap on here.

Why not call CHUCK and have the Nerd Herd fix the problem you ask? Well that would have been fine only I’m afraid that Casey would have come along and I sure didn’t want to be questioned by the NSA. Course if Chuck would have brought Sarah along then I’d been Ok with that ( a little Chuck humor for fans of the show, like me)

Anyway, my older son got the Z family up and running again so we’re back online.

Now for some FF business. I’ve been working a lot lately ( lots of overtime) and a co-worker and I were talking about movies. He had “ Hannibal Rising” and “American Gangster” on dvd and said I should watch them. He was really pushing them on me so I complied. They were good and I liked them and returned them to him. We were talking again and I asked if he liked science fiction shows like Star Wars and Star Trek. He said that he did. Well the next thing is obvious. I wanted to introduce him to FF. I explained that it was a space western and he frowned. I brought the series to him the next day and so far he hasn’t made it past the war sequence on the pilot eps without falling asleep ( he’s been working a lot of overtime too) He said he wasn’t sure if he could watch it.

I was a little angry with this and told him to at least give it a chance. That’s were we stand as of this writing. We have gotten to a point where we have had some days off. I’ll have to see how thing are when I get back to work. I guess not everyone is recruit-able. Just hope he makes it to the second disc.

LOL….SW

Guess if I loaned him the series and he asked me to come over and tie him up each time he watched an episode. Well, that might tell me something! :)

The downside of tying someone up to watch Firefly is that you can't be sure if they're enjoying the show or enjoying the bondage.

Of course, your mileage may vary.

I never considered that Jane….it might work, but this guy is about the size of CROW. Don’t think that waking up a sleeping bear is a good idea :)

I’ll likely just wait and let FF pull him in like a Trans-U’s grappling hooks.

Thanks for u-r post

You know, you could always sit with your friend while he watches Firefly. Then you could give him a judicious poke if he looks like falling asleep. You might even be able to claim back taxes on it as it is for educational purposes ...

Howdy SerenityRiddle, Bytemite & Angelle

SR,yepper by this weekend I should know whether he loves FF or whether he’s Alliance

Bytemite, thanks for the info. Things have been repaired.

Angelle, how you doin there my friend? Yeah, it wasn’t the first time I’ve lost a story. Most of the time I just put then where I can’t find ‘em. Mostly it’s just story ideas that are lost. Anyway if I were to rewrite it it may turn out better the second time, I’m just not sure if I want to do that. I have the main idea and the ending stored away in the old noggin so I may try again later.

Enjoyed reading your posts fellow browncoats….I always do.

Trust me when i say...I know the whole losing writing. My one writing program has been eating alot of my work lately, but I have persisted and switched programs to keep it from happening again. You might discover as you rewrite the chapters, that it might be better than when you first wrote it....

*A specialist who recovers files I mean. Not overwrites them.

On your computer problem, a lot of times your files can still be recovered. Deleted files just means the computer's been told it's okay to overwrite the bits of code constituting the files. I'd take your computer to a specialist who does just that.

On bondage: sometimes I wonder. I can't seem to get a single person in my family to sit through an entire episode.

I think he should give it a good chance, as you watched both of the movies he said you should watch... Good luck. It may take until he has down time, but I am sure he will like our BDH's... who wouldn't? They're just so lovable! :)
