2 suggestions:

1. i recommend trying to start watching FF with friends/new converts. it can keep you from burning out, pulls you through times you think that might be happening, and heightens the experience in general.

2. using the slang in french... well, flat out chinese doesn't change, so you can use that... for the real slang though, you'll probably have to stick to the phrases rather than words (gorram and ruttin'). "not so much," "that'd be a kindness," "i'd take it as a courtesy" and such.
