I have returned from a four month internet hiatus .. since returning a week or so I have lurked

I read a "Hi .. have the firefly dvds made it to my country yet" ( http://www.fireflyfans.net/thread.asp?b=2&t=6959 ) post and that set me off on a tangent wondering what comments the amazon.com/uk customer reviewers have about firefly ...

I bought this DVD boxset purely out of curiosity. Being a huge fan of both Buffy and Angel, I wondered if Joss Whedon's other baby was worth watching.
I can say now, with all honesty, it is a good as it's siblings. When the time came to watch the final episode, my husband and I were in mourning for this fantastic show that never got to see a second season.
Everyone should therefore watch the DVD as it is truly wonderful. All the characters are so well written and there are laugh out loud funny lines in every episode. There are also moments of heartbreaking pathos performed by the very talented cast.
I defy anyone not to fall in love with Firefly!

After reading this I have to agree with that amazon uk customer ... I wasn't a real Buffy fan and never watched Angel.

If you have liked the new Battlestar Galactica mini series then I would recommend this ( The Firefly features in shot in that series ).
I am not a fan of Joss Wheedon since I did not get into Angel & Buffy.This is Angel & Buffy for adults. I would not show this to anyone below 15 but apart from that anyone who likes Red Dwarf or sci fi with a slight variation on a theme then this is a must.


See above for my take on Buffy and Angel.
I am someone who enjoys Red Dwarf and some of the other scifi available in the 'verse ... guess thats why Firefly appealed to me

BTW: While I was offline I converted my girlfriend to browcoat ranks. She hopes to get time to watch some of the episodes again asap .. probably after she watches her new Sliders season 1 and 2 set
