LJ is a great place to be with lots of communities to get involved with. A way to keep tabs on Firefly stuff you could check out which is a daily round-up of everything in the Firefly 'Verse.

I like Livejournal, you get to have more insights on what you're doing and meet new people. You can almost do what ever you like, start a poll, fanfics, messages, join a comunity... I got one though I don't use it much if you want I'll give you the link =)

As others have said, there are quite a few of us here who also have accounts there. As a matter of fact, this community: http://community.livejournal.com/_the_firefly_/profile is the LJ equivalent of this site.

LJ is basically a blogging community where you set up your own journal, and customize it however you like. You can have people on a friends' list and follow their blogs. There are also lots of communities like the one linked above that you can watch or join, following them on your friends' list as well. I encourage you to give them a look. Browse around and see if you like what you see.

Oh, and re your user name? If you don't want to use your YouTube one, you could try adding hyphens to this one, i.e. Wakeup-Soon. (They used to allow hyphens at the beginning and/or end of your user name, but I'm not sure they still do.) Still not exactly like this one, but close...

i mainly use it to read the vast amounts of great stuff by other folk i bump into!

A bunch of us have 'em, and there are countless Firefly communities - not just for fan discussion, but for fanfic, vids, icons, graphics, you name it, LJ's got it. It's probably got gobs of communities for your other fandoms/activities, too. Definitely give it a dance.
