Well, Shades of the Past is finished. And, honestly, I intended, at first, to let Shade die off and move on, having a few other ideas floating around in the vasty nothingness between my ears.
But I didn't. I couldn't in fact. The story got under my skin while I was writing it, and more and more things began to pop into my head, and before I knew it I was eleven chapters and tens of thousands of words into a sequel, called Long Road Home.
Eventually, I will move on to those other ideas, Lord willing and the creek don't rise. But for now, I think I'll stay with this, and see where it goes.
I want to thank everyone who has commented on the story, and encouraged me to keep going. I'd never done this, and your words really helped keep me going when I thought I might just quit.
