Super Hippie!
Friday, June 1, 2007

I fully intend to write something interesting and thought provoking here very soon, but for the moment I'm just gonna go with the sillies.

Meet Super Hippie!

Made using the very latest technology! Okay, made using a free version of Hero Machine I found online.

Before you ask, no it doesn't look ~anything~ like me. For one thing, I gave her brown eyes and hair. Ever notice how absolutely no super heroine has brown hair? It's always red, blonde or black. Never brown. So I'm attempting to redress the balance by providing the world with a brown haired hero chick

Anyway, the heromachine site lets you create your own superhero from scratch, and has quite a few nifty features. You need to pay to get the full package, but the free one still lets you play around with lots of looks, from the sublime...

To the... erm... not so sublime.

Try it yourself! It's fun!

Thanks for the comments guys.

Yes, I *should* be wearing sandals rather than tennis shoes, and they do have sandals, but to be honest most hippies I know tend to wear battered old tennis shoes instead of sandals! As long as they're the non-sweatshoppy kind anyway.

True, Kitty "Shadowkat" Pryde is an honest to goodness brown haired hero, which is but one of the reasons why she is awesome. In fact, she's one of only two I can think of - the other being Janet "The Wasp" Van Dyme. I;m sure there are others, but way too few. It's mostly black, blonde or red in the superheroine hair salon!

Would you believe I completely forgot about the real Psycho Pirate? Totally escaped my mind! I wouldn't mind, only I just read Crisis on Infinite Earths for the first time last year, so I have absolutely no excuse. Oh well... this is what I get for being a Marvel and Dark Horse fangirl. I need to read DC more often.

As for saving the images, I don't know! I just took a screen print, cut the part I wanted out, saved that to my PC and then uploaded it to imageshack. Which is less complicated than it sounds!

What about Katherine "Shadowcat" Pryde of the X-Men and Joss' favourite female superhero? She's a brunette...though not the first name one would rattle off if asked for a female superhero:(
