You know how when you order something, and then you find out it's going to be late, and you get really, really cross?

I ordered the Firefly Companion Volume Two from Amazon UK, well in advance, only come the day it was supposed to be sent out, I got an email saying it wasn't ready - the publishers hadn't released it!

So, being the nosy person I am, I thought I'd look at the US Amazon site, and low and behold, there it was. Ready for shipment. I ordered it there and then (last Monday) and it arrived today.

Today!

(Sorry, just doing my happy dance right now!)

Why should this be the case? If Amazon in America has it, why not Amazon in the UK? And then the oddest part is that it actually came from the German Amazon ...

I don't really care. I've got my book, and it is amazing. There are some photos I've never seen anywhere, and the interviews are ... trouble is, I may have to buy another copy anyway because of all the drool that's going to dampen this one ...

Actually? It's like movies....staggered release schedule to allow for various copyrights and translations to be obtained.

The possibility of you breaching copyright law by buying something that was officially available in the UK from the States is there, but if Amazon US let you buy it, then you're fine.

I had that problem with Volume One which is why I am waiting for a while before i order it. Plus, Chazzer's right. Really don't need the distraction at the moment.

I had the same problem, but I haven't ordered it from anywhere else yet. I think I'm just gonna wait it out... if it comes now, I'll just be futher distracted from revision.

Still, glad to hear its gonna be worth the wait :D:D
