Spoilers - Why you British types should just give episode numbers, not names
Saturday, May 12, 2007

(AMPLE WARNING!! IF YOU IS OF THE PARTY THAT HATES SPOILERS, LEAVE. I think I can put the rest of the blog in spoiler tags... but what kind of fun is that?)

AH, you know... the hell that is spoilers. I hate them. So, I'm a wee bit upset with my Whofic archive I read. ... well... also, the couple of blogs I read for whofic. Still.

Any of you British types should understand what I mean -- as an American, I already know too much. Alright, let's list what I know already, and where I learned it.

One: Donna. Oh, this one's brilliant -- someone on the Skiffy Doctor Who board posted a link... and it was a Runaway Bride clip. Not that I realized this until halfway through, and then it was too late. I also know that she doesn't last. *sigh* Not that that's as bad as it could be... but I know her name? Yes, that's fun. Much of a ruined experience for me.

Two: BLUE SUIT!? (I say no more. Just that publicity photos... *sigh*)

Three: Lesson learned -- stay off the show's official Web Site. (OMG... if you don't find episode spoilers from titles anywhere else, this is where you will.)

Four: The Doctor Who writers have a thing for spoiler-laden titles. Seriously, what the crap, dude? (Case in point, there's one mentioning Shakespeare. Wonder who we meet there, Einstein? Another: There's (Fuzzy on this one, though) Daleks in Manhattan? That's worse than "Rise of the Cybermen" or, "Dalek", you know? *glaring*

Five: The whole Martha Jones thing... fanfiction really needs a glaring warning sign when she's in there. If my fanfiction I read is anything to do with what I think that one says, not only do I know she's a medical student, I think we meet her in an alleyway of some sorts...

This doesn't sound so bad, but you know, I've already ranted on exactly how many times you can kill the last Dalek in existance. I'm counting 1) Time War 2)Dalek, 3)Army of Ghosts/Doomsday. And if my spoilers are right (*praying to something that they aren't*) we have another one? Gah...

I don't know how corrupted I am for July 6th, 9:00, but I'm gonna have to swear off Whofic for a while. I'm gonna definitely cry when I see: Doctor (11th) as a new character, because that mean's I've definitely screwed up.
How bad is it? Don't spoiler more, but... lemme know - are these huge as I think they are?

Did I say it had? I'm with you, MSG, I've not gotten it yet either... *cry*
I'm just a wee bit pissed that I know too much about it so far.... (Meaning the first six ep titles, etc)

Not to sound all defensive, but I had the exact same problem with LOST. I couldn't read fan fic or listen to podcasts or even visit any LOST websites just in case they were ran by americans.

Although we have caught up with you now, which would be great... except SKY ONE bought it off channel four, and since we ovbiously don't have sky at Uni..... ah, it sucks. I'm forced to watch it online, and it just ain't the same.

I didn't actually realise DR Who had made it to the US, you know. I loved it last series but haven't seen any of series two.

Anyway, I sympathize with your plight. xx

I agree wholeheartedly with ya, Fizzix. The amount of spoilers out there because the 3rd season is in the middle of its broadcast schedule in the UK and British fans can just drop bombs galore on the 'Net is absolutely friggin' ridiculous!
