Why I hate Comic Relief
Friday, March 16, 2007

It's not the cause, I have nothing against giving to charity. I hate Comic Relief and other TV telethons in general for two reasons:

1. It's one night where a bunch of non-entities that like to think they are celebrities humiliating themselves. Especially newsreaders. Why do they feel the need to dress up in stockings?

2. The guilting you into giving them money. They show you pictures of starving Africans and say that if you don't give them money then the chld will die. It's the same with the charities that get people to sign up on the street. I really hate the emotional blackmail.

I will give money to charity but I don't want to be forced.

I have always had a mixed bag o' feelings for such things. On the one hand, donating to charity is the right thing to do...but like you said, they use emotional blackmail of the dirtiest sort to wangle money out of ya:(

I love Comic Relief!!!

I understand the emotional blackmail is prety unpleasant but it just nice to see so many people getting together to raise money. Plus red nose day was always so much fun at school. Non Uniform Days rocked!!!!

I just love it lol.

MSG

yeah and when you consider the amount of money they spent on all the stuff ( film crew, sets, lighting etc...) they could have raised a lot more by just donating that or even a simple announcement.
