My definition of Firefly
Wednesday, November 8, 2006

One of my fellow Browncoats posted a log entry "What Firefly Means to Me" and talked about the mentality, etc. of the browncoat life.
I left him a response, but decided I wanted to share this with everyone, because I have recently had a Browncoat experience which was just fantastic.

Firefly, to me, is not about a fabulously written and acted show and movie, and it's not about a force of will that got a full length movie, even though it is all of those things.

This is what Firefly means to me:

I like writing fanfic, and a fair number of you all out there enjoy reading it, so everyone gets something out of it, haha.

My life recently has been an absolute trainwreck, and anyone who read "Annabelle" and "Reconsider Me" will have a good idea about what is going on. believe it or not, it is even more complicated than what i wrote about, God help me.

Well, the level of support I received from people whom I do not know and probably never will know, except in the fact that we all wear coats colored brown, has been astonishing.

Firefly, to me, is means a philosophy and mentality, a sense of community and belonging, where someone in Australia can support some dude in Boston going through troubles.

I want to thank all of my fellow browncoats, and hope I can do the same someday.

That's what Firefly means to me.

Yep...Firefly means family. Even if the brothers and sisters are hundreds of miles (or kilometres if you support Metric;D) apart

;)
