I got an e-mail today, I won't say from whom, that doesn't really matter, telling me how much he (or she, I don't know which just yet) admired the stuff I've done so far and asked me to be a beta reder. I was so damn blown away that someone should think that much they would want me to read their stuff. of course I said yes, my fingers damn near tripped over themselves getting that e-mail back to the person.

Like everyone else, I am doing this for fun, entertaining the vastly fantastic notion that some network finally grows a pair and takes another shot at Firefly, and that joss looks to these Fanfic sites for writing talent (of course I know that's a bunch of crap, but what's life without a few reams......hell without dreams, none of you would be reading this, right?).

Obviously, none of us are getting paid (allthough if your read my resposne to the guy in the blue sun room threads thanking the fanfic writers, I guess I did get a little excited about how I figure I eally AM getting paid). We're all just having fun. I'm 38 years old, and once upon a time someone took an interest in my writing, someone whom i respected, and that made a lot of difference for me, both as a writer and as a person, and I hope I can offer the same to this person, and anyone else that asks me.

I was really, really touched by this, and all I can say is that i hope i can fulfill this role in the manney that best helps you to be a better writer and a better person
