O, Muse Where Art Thou?
Monday, July 3, 2006

So my big damn muse is on extended hiatus. It is a very odd feeling. I don't like whinging, but I feel so empty when there are no ideas flitting in my head. It's been more than three days. I haven't written a word. And I even watched about four episodes today. But I'm all dried out.

Will someone out there please turn on the hose? Flush the pipes, get the flow goin again? Please? Anyone? Someone?

Ok, so there's no one out there.

"Everybody dies alone."

Muses can be extremely picky. My muses came back for my Fall Out Boy inspired fics while I was listening to Red Hot Chili Peppers. Just do something and see if you can think of anything. Sometimes, it best to have your mind somewhere else. That's usually when the best muses come.

Here's to hoping they come back soon!

Wash fic is always good. I love the way you get his voice. Maybe Zoe's reaction to first meeting the dinosaurs would be a good one. Or Jayne meeting them...

I know how you feel, believe me.

Sometimes writing prompts help. Just google "writing prompts" online and you'll find a ton of them. One I used a few weeks ago that could sorta be serenity-ish:

-Come up with ten images for this prompt. Feel free to be as brief or wordy as you see fit. "My home makes me think of..."-

Then there are all the old tricks: watch tiv for a while, listne to music, do something that else for a while. Make yourself bound a determined NOT to write, and sometimes you just can't help but find something to write about.

I hope you find your muse, soon!
