Just finished and uploaded my last Firefly music video for a while, and this one's special in that it was inspired by you people. Back when I came onto this board in late October after discovering the show, I was in bad shape. I just couldn't believe there were no more episodes - and there wouldn't be any more. But all of you kept me sane and, more than that, showed me I wasn't alone in feeling that way.

Here's my tribute to you.

The goal of the vid was to show what it feels like to be a Firefly fan; to fall in love with this glorious ghost of a show that's long since dead but is never too far away. It's a unique cycle of emotions when you become a fan... the joy, the pain, the anger and frustration at its death, the flickers of hope. But ultimately what defines the Firefly fandom - for me at least - is the unity of the fans, and how we all draw strength from the fact that we all feel or have felt this way about the show. It brings us together, keeps us celebrating what was and what might be again.

That's why Firefly will never really go away, and that's the feeling I was trying to capture in this video. We're all a little bit Mal here.

Cub,

You did a fantastic job with this. I really think you ought to be doing this for a living (if you're not already). It is well edited, well sync'd with the music, and really evokes the feeling I had when I saw that ep (and other Firefly eps). All I can say is, bring'on more shininess brother! :)

SERENITYSEEKER

Hey Cub, absolutely amazing vid. Definitely captures the beauty of Serenity and the emotions that one would feel while watching that episode. Quick question: What editing software do you use if you don't mind me asking? I've got the idea for a fanvid that I'd like to make and your's have been the best that I've seen. If you don't mind sharing what you use and the general price range of it all, I would greatly appreciate it. Again, beautiful vids all around. Thanks.
