Crashed My Car
Friday, March 3, 2006

Skidded on an icy road. Missed two cars, smashed my right front wheel against the curb. Sat in the middle of the road for an hour waiting for the recovery folks.

The wheel is easily replaced, might be other (brakes, axle) damage. We'll see.

What jolly Friday night fun it was.

Glad to hear you're okay. I know about people being idiots in bad weather. For some reason most folks round my town seem not to be able to comprehend that the speed limit is the highest speed you should go in the best possible conditions not the minimum speed you can ever go.

I was fine, fortunately. Shaken for a moment, but not shocked or angry or anything.

I was quite concerned, however, by the large and/or fast moving vehicles who insisted on approaching my non-moving, stuck in the middle of the road car in hazardous weather at speed, when a splendid example of what happens if you don't drive safely was sat right infront of them.

People are stupid.

But saying that, many people stopped to see if I was okay, even a couple of chavs. Almost restored my faith in humanity, or some such crap.
