For Christmas I had gotten my brother and his wife the Firefly the series DVD. A few days before the holiday I took a copy of Serenity over to his house to watch and get a feel for if you would enjoy the verse. Between the kids and other distractions I left feeling that he didn’t get a chance to get a real appreciation of the BDM. Well I just received a phone call from me telling me he was about to watch the last episode. Over the last two and a half days he has watched the entire series! He told me he was hooked and couldn’t believe it was canceled. He asked about a sequel to the BDM and I told him our hopes rest on the DVD sales. With that he said he was going to go out and buy the Serenity DVD, (even though I left him a copy) in an effort to help the cause. It was really great to see him enjoy the Big Damn Heroes as much as I do!

Basically Fox canceled the series due to poor ratings. Though they did very little to support the show i.e. ran the episodes out of order making it hard to follow, plus they had no backbone in supporting a quality show and gave up after only 12 shows!
