Hey! Whazzat? Eggs?!
Friday, March 12, 2004

Thats right. I came home today to find that one of my lizards had piled all the sand into one corner of the cage and laid some eggs. I'm going out to pick up some stuff for an incubator an about an hour but until then, Uru.

Should be interesting to say the least. She's never laid eggs before so Im assuming that theyve been fertilized. Im kind of worried though, this is way out of natural breeding season and she's now very very skinny (not good in a Uromastyx). I guess Ill see what happens in three months.

Good day all.

Ehhh... no, theyre too small to eat. Even if I cooked all ten of 'em they still wouldnt make a decent sized omelette. Man, I cant even picture a 16 inch lizard laying ten eggs the size of my fore-thumb ('bout an inch long, and maybe two around), even if the shells dont harden until theyve been layed. How do you NOT notice something like that? Oh well, I got them into an incubator but three months seems like an incredable amount of time to wait now. She's pissed that I took them out of the cage though, I mean REALLY pissed, I hope it dosent stress her out too much but its the only way to be sure that the male dosent get into them.

Thats all for now.

There's never paper. Now it's all Internet.

Good luck with the eggs! Because the Livin' Legend needs 'em!

Congrats! Hope she does well - probably should feed her a little extra to rebuild her strength or something. (But, I know nothing about lizards, so that advice is worth the paper it's printed on... What?!? No paper?!? )
