Fun in Spanish with English subtitles

In an attempt to keep my son from wrecking the show his daddy is recording, I played "Out of Gas" with the Spanish audio and English subtitles. See, my dear husband has the TV routed through the VCR, so you can't change the channel without changing it on the VCR. And my boy wanted to watch TV.

The Spanish Mal I think was the closest to the real actor when compared to all the other voices and their counterparts, although to be fair I wasn't paying close attention, because taking care of a 2-year old toward bedtimes takes my attention away from the story a bit.

Why did I choose the Spanish audio? I'm trying to expose my son to the Spanish language, since all he hears is English (and some Japanese from my Inuyasha theme songs.) I'm hoping he can learn a second language while he's still young, but I may be hoping for too much.

I can speak spanish perfectly and it never occurred to me to watch our Big Damn Heroes in Spanish, it will be a fresh FF experience all over again.

CALLMESERENITY


I've watched the eps in spanish. It's fun. I used to love watching Spanish television (back when I lived somewhere where we had spanish television.) Especially the crazy soap operas and dubbed movies. But now, to make up for it, I watch my DVDs in spanish. I'm also very fond of watching Harry Potter in espanol (the 2nd DVD is the only one that has it). The voices crack me up.

As a teenager I feel it is my duty to be outraged by that last comment. Off the record though, I am so tired of hearing my peers complain about their melodrama,lol. Watching spanish dubbed FF sounds like fun, I think I just found my new holiday activiy :)

My friends have a kid named Alexander. The mom wants to call him Alex. The dad wants to call him Xander. I'm not sure who's won that battle yet.

Ah, to hear Buffy whine in French about being the chosen one. A little French whine can go a long way.

I have to say, Buffy is not my favorite character. She's true to form for someone that age -- self-centered and whiny. I just don't like teenagers.

Get out of my yard, you gorram hoodlums!

Sad thing is, I did the same for my nephews and French Buffy.

Did you know that the French refer to Xander as "Alex"?
