What Did They Do To My Lifeforce?
Sunday, October 30, 2005

Argh!

So, I’m looking at the dish guide and I see LIFEFORCE listed. I think, ‘Wow. That movie was awful, I need to watch it again. Nothin better than space vampires in London…sweet!’

I select the channel, excited as can be, but there’s no LIFEFORCE. What do I find? Another freakin ad for Proactive. What the heck?! Do I need to see Diddy and Vanessa discussing the pleasant burning sensation of the special Proactive Toner? Nope…I need to see Picard before he was Picard. Gorramit!

Stupid proactive.

Now I'm stuck watchin' Last Action Hero...sigh...where's the space vampire?

Oooh! Goonies...

You'll probably look down upon me from this day forward and force me to give up my geek status, but I've never seen it at a playhouse.

I kinda know what goes on, and I /do/ want to go. It's just I've never had the chance to go and/or someone to go with.

Even the wife wouldn't go if there was a showing here (living in a small town now). I actually had to do some convincing to get her to watch it with me tomorrow evening at home. Even then, we'll see if it happens.

I /do/ want to go though. *sigh*

Till then, at least I have my DVD.

At least you'll have some fun. Squirt someone with a watergun for me :)

When it comes to "B" grade sci-fi movies I always think of Missle to the Moon with Sonny Tufts made back in the fifties. The sight of an old V2 rocket lifting off and then magically turning into a winged rocket with the flame coming out the back going "UP" always cracked me up but the best scene was where the lead actor takes a pack of cigarettes out of his spacesuit pocket on the surface of the moon and tosses it from the dark side to the light side (a perfect line, not a gradual change in light mind you) and in a perfect vacuum the cigarette bursts into flame and smoke. The amazon women living under the lunar surface also raised a few chuckles. Gawd! It's amazing how lame sci-fi used to be but then when I see Jar Jar Binks I think things haven't improved much. Then I watch the DVDs of Firefly and think "Now that's something special". Then Fox cancels the show and I decide to start cleaning my gun in anticipation of TV Exec Hunting Season.

Damn, we all need bad B rated movies every once in a while. *shakes fist at proactive*

Goonies is a great movie though. So, enjoy! :)

But, shouldn't The Rocky Horror Picture Show be on somewhere? If not, might be tomorrow I guess.

Don't know, maybe I'm one of the few that that movie spells Halloween for anymore.
