Power went out tonight. Fun. Or not fun.

Transformer blew, knocking out a few others along the way...big wooden pole that it sets upon caught fire...what fun! So I was without power for the longest time. Before dinner and now it's bedtime.

Did i miss anything? How was the party? So sad. I was looking forward to seeing everyone tonight and talking.

Happy Birthday MG!

Anyone have any good 'power's out' stories?

I have a song from Chappele's show on power outtages...

"When white people's power go out they panic..When black people's power goes out they Plan it!"

Take it good fashion!! LOL

'94. Huge ice storm in VA. No power for 5 days. Ended up staying at a friend's house because they had a wood stove. We all slept in sleeping bags around the wood stove, cooked on it, did everything around it.

'96 Blizzard in PA. All the roads got shut down. I got trapped at Pastor's house with 4 kids (one of them mentally handicapped and in need of constant supervision) for 4 days. The mother was transported by the military to the home of a quadripilegic (sp?) so I ran the house. It was maaadness. I was about ready to pull my hair out. We lived off whatever frozen foods they had in stock (mostly french fries) and I think I did about 30 loads of laundry.

Also, when the power goes out, it's fun to roast mini marshmallows over a candle with toothpicks.

Winter of Aught Three it was. Bad ice storm blew in, knocked out power for mosta Nerth Carerliner fer a few days. Camped out in the livin' room where the fire place were. Goin' down to my room on the opposite end of the house were like goin' out to the abandoned section of the compound. Cold as ice it were. Still slept down there, though. I like cold, and I had piles of blankets, I did. Spent the better part of a week going from friend's house to friend's house in search of hot water. Whee.
