With this title, methinks you are a Willow fan?

Are you a bit of a Wicca chicka?

When I have a brain block, I find that doing something else helps (and sunshine is best most often, though strong coffee and a good book come a close second).

My Masters thesis was based on getting proper sleep so that I was awake and concentrating (and having the weekends off). I organised it really well, yet still found that I was up until 4am on the morning of the hand-in date! A wise person once said that all work fills the time alloted to it, so allot yourself dates by which certain sections have to be done. Though I find that when I allot dates they sail by and yet, somehow, I still manage to finish!

OR just start writing! I find the more complex the dissertation, the easier it is just to start writing something. It eventually magically comes together, as you find that all the little sections make a big section, then the big sections interlink, then you have a thesis! It's weird!

oh dearest!

i'm sure there's nothing wrong with having a brain block- or at least i hope so because i have them all the time! (cannot focus . . . 10 more days!)
enjoy the weather. it sounds marvelous. take another walk and bring a pen and paper with you this time and have fun writing something that doesn't have to to with your thesis. that should get that out of your system.
i'm sure you're gonna get through this! and i'm also POSITIVE that your thesis is genius.

ZOOT

If this helps, when I could think of nothing to write when doing my thesis, I would wander off and do other things, go drinking, watch TV, whatever. Then I’d make myself stay awake, drooped over my keyboard, until the wee small hours of the morning (it has to be after 12 midnight, say 3 or 4 for preference).

Then I would suddenly find, unbidden, a plethora of thoughts and ideas spilling from my fecund mind onto the screen… ‘Course, you read it again in the morning and 85% of it’s gibberish – but oh, that other sweet 15% of pure molten genius …
