i'm in the middle of writing my college essay. it's really hard as i'm sure you all appreciate. somehow this just seems like a painful inauguration into the real world. all this sorrow for something that might fail me. i've wanted to go to the university of virginia since i was a little girl. both my parents went there and my daddy sam lived on the lawn (a prestigious little dorm). it's just frustrating to be so alone now . . . how does one continue? i'm saving the last part of kaylee's lament for tonight, as a pick-me-up, but fact is i just wish i knew more english teachers. but i suppose that's enough of my whining: it's just a little embarassing to post all that on my lj or myspace.
at least i have plans for the bdm. we're all meeting in baltimore for a shindig of our own creation. as in we watch every single episode and then see the movie. a daunting task indeed! are there any other browncoats in the area? we would all hate to miss a real party.
oh and the first line of my essay is "shakespeare is a lot like sex". i love it though i think it might be a bit misleading . . . but then if 'this is what going mad must feel like" i guess it's okay.

CMS- you should have lots and lots of babies. thank you. nothing like words of encouragement and a ghiradelli cocoa square. thank you. is suppose if i didn't live in c'ville i would consider vt. . . minus the whole being a liberal arts person!

C- shakespeare is a lot like sex because-
-the first time you do a lot of apologizing
-you have to look up the hard words
-afterwards you think "what was all the fuss about?"
i would like to thank dr. menzer for changing my life!
oh and some of the folk haven't seen all the episodes. w'all were introduced this summer and only few have dvds. like me!

Pfft ... why watch every episode again? You should have them memorized by now !! Why would UVA take anyone who doesn't have every episode of Firefly completely engraved into their psyche. I mean, that is what the world is ... right? And I agree, Shakespeare is a lot like sex, just not as sticky. Well then again I suppose that depends on many things.

Take a few deep cleansing breaths.

Trust me on this: everything's going to work out. Everything will be okay.

Your essay is going to be great (how can it not be with an intro like yours?)

You will get into college. It may not be your first choice, but it'll turn out to be one of the best times of your life. (Besides, why would you want to to to UVA anyway, when VT is just down the road???) ")

I remember how stressful this time was for me, and how I felt like my life would be over if things didn't turn out the way I wanted them to.
But things didn't turn out the way I wanted them to and my life isn't over and so far, it's been one very interesting ride. And besides, isn't the journey the worthier part anyway?

I hope you have a great time at the Baltimore shindig. Sounds great!
