Any suggestions...
Saturday, February 26, 2005

I'm looking for a good combination of freeware that will stop anything in its tracks. I've got Microsoft Anti-spyware, Avast! Anti-Virus, Spybot - Search & Destroy, Lavasoft Ad-Aware SE Personal, SpywareBlaster, and I'm using Windows XP's SP2 Firewall. I recently switched over from AVG Free Edition 7 to Avast!, because it wasn't performing as well as it used to seem to.

Any suggestions as to other anti-virus/spyware programs, or an alternate software firewall?

(This is for home use, since I can't use my business' virus-killer, because it would require an additional license, and I'm a cheapo)

*Edited: Actually, I'm not cheap, I just have no money*

I'm still happy with AVG anti-virus although their free updates seem quite slow nowadays. However, I'd recommend Outpost as a good free firewall.

Norton Internet Security with AntiVirus. ZoneAlarm Pro is a good firewall too. See also Norton Corporate AV.
