The thirst for knowledge
Tuesday, February 8, 2005

Straight to the point, I can't wait fot the BDM, just in case the fact that I'm here and writing this didn't tell you that anyway. I can't help but feel, however, that my thirst for knowledge has somehow let me down.

I have never been one to avoid spoilers. I like to know all I can about the things I am interested in and enjoy, so I read most of what is here on this site. Yesterday I was reading the questions directed at the people who have seen the screenings and the answers they provided and my reaction to them has got me worried. Usually reading the spoilers makes me yern for the time when I can see those things for myself, but the opposite has happened with Serenity.

Where has my enthusiasm gone? Don't get me wrong I'm still wishing away the months until release and plotting ways of making money so I can afford to fly out to America to watch it. So I don't have to wait those couple of extra months until the British release. But the spoilers arn't tideing me over! I want the show we all know and love back no matter how futile that may be. I'm not sure if, (as much as I hate to think it) my imagination has caused part of the problem. It has been making up lives for these characters and may now have convinced itself that Joss and Co. are going to have to work mighty hard to rival that!

Anyway, I somehow come away from this looking slightly weird and I promise I'm not! The conclusion I have reached is no more spoilers for me. In fact I'm not even going to let myself think about it for another 5 months. (yeah right) Trust in Joss, and even if I'm dissapointed a movie is better than nothing at all! I'm off to do my reading for my lecture which is in 10 hours.

...I guess my thirst for knowledge got the better of me after all!

CASUALTY

After a couple of spoiler free days my enthusiasm has returned. I just need to find someone to occasionally remind me that the BDM will be much better enjoyed if I don't know what's going to happen! Maybe if Keep repeating,

I do not need spoilers
I do not need spoilers
I do not need spoilers...

GLOWYRM

'lord, give me the strength to avoid the evil that is the spoiler!'

im in australia and i dont yet know when we will be getting the BDM!!! to make things worse.....get this... the tv network that screened (past tense) firefly... they.... they.... put it on twice a week at midnight to get it out of the way so they could replace it with some (please dont be offended) gods-be-damned- dumb-ass-american-realy-not-funny-getthiscrapoffmy-tv show called 'cedric the entertainer' or some such happy horse manure.

as i dont watch a lot of tv (mostly just the kids shows when im with my kids) and i dont get the paper or a tv guide

I DIDNT KNOW WHAT WAS HAPPENING!!!

i miss my BDH's in all their shiny wonder... i cry at the thought that i cant snuggle down at midnight on a tuesday to get my dose of Jayne's Dumb-ass maleness, Mal and Inara's unrequited (to the best of my knowledge)LOVE... the strange bond that holds River, Simon and Kaylee together, without the 'togetherness'. and what is with Book's hair... i want to understand why he said it was a religious requirement, and was that refering to keeping it back, or keeping it long...i wanted to see Zoe Kick-Jayne's-DumbAss-Self just once...and i realy miss her husbands puzzled confusion-ism manner, and his strenght of will. he is the kind of guy EVERY woman needs. loyal, loving and able to fly real well!

in Australia we must now say goodbye to the one hour of tv that made life planetside bareable.

R.I.P. FIREFLY

BELASERA

I hear you, after reading just a few of the sopilers for Serenity I found myself oddly sad and down for a few hours. So, yeah, no more spoilers for me, and it seems like quite a few people are thinking the same thing.
Just remember, Firefly sounds weird until you see it! The movie will be great....when we SEE it!
