Okay, folks, the previous Out of Character commentary thread just got too full and was getting difficult to load, so time to start the next one.

This thread will contain general out of character discussion, as well as direction, commentary, and story arc information from the directors. If you're one of the actors, please check this thread before posting a move to the in-character RP thread.

2130 / 9:30 PM
Merz get up after nightmare and retires to the cargo bay to tire herself to sleep.

2205 / 10:05 PM
Mal wakes and takes a stroll to see Merz beginning her workout. After several minutes, he goes back to bed.

2338 / 11:38 PM
Merz finishes her katas and returns to her bunk.

Inara sleeps a restless sleep.

2400 / Midnight
Mal replaces Wash at the Pilots station. Wash then scampers off for a well deserved hero's welcome from Zoe.

0015 / 12:15 midnight
Book leaves the impromptu pool hall in favor of sleep. Rowan continues practicing while Jayne remains obliviously asleep

O325 / 3:25 AM
Merz wakes and does a nude 30 minute work out.

O400 / 4 AM
Thorne visits Mal on the bridge and plays his message from Slight.

Damon wakes in the shuttle.

Starkers Merz enters galley and scrounges a post workout snack. Jayne misses the sight of his life.

Damon enters galley to scrounge food, just missing a nekkid Merz.

Please allow me to introduce myself. I think everyone here knows me, and possibly that I'll be joining the Fire/Dragonfly RP crossover as the ever-charming (<--sarcasm) Major Hlastoni. It's a pleasure to be here.

Although normally quiet as a church mouse, I've decided to add some of my thoughts:

Where's the transfer take place?
Did someone mention a moon of New Hokkaido? You've been plugging New Hokkaido for so long, and in the show moons are treated very independant from their planets, so I say New Hokkaido must be the target. Can New Hokkaido be the moon? Orbitting Shin-Nippon (New Japan).

In town? Out in the wild?
Since it's ship to ship transfer, we should take Trash's lead and put it someplace deserted. They only land in a city when it is unavoidable. A ghost town would be fun! Wonderfully cliche but so very stupid. Still, since we're having a battle anyways...

How is the delivery to take place?
Serenity swings in, meets a few men from Chimera, collects half the platinum, drops the goods, and gets the other half. After they leave, Rubicon comes in and they load.

When the battle starts up (during the unload?) Rubicon could do a couple of sweeps and clear most of the concentrated fighters. I think that makes the battle more fair - unless Thorne can think them all to death?

EDIT: I posted three times on the old OOC. the first was a compliment for Capn on his shiny work for the times. The second was the commercial that Teela quoted. Thanks Teela

As you may have guessed by now, I was thinking shares like on some fishing boats. Gross income less ship operating costs equals net income. Net is divided into a number of equal shares and Captain gets three (for example), other officers get two, and crew get one. Since Damon wasn't on the trip in to Hera, he just gets half.

Don't worry about the 'Get off at New Hokkaido' comment. If Capn Rahn has his way, I suspect that something will come up there that'll make Mal glad to have every crew member he can get when leaving NH. But since Mal doesn't know that yet, he thinks Damon would be excess.

The scene came from ... well different memories and nightmares from my life.

Sorta blended together to try and pass to the reader what I saw in my head what happening with Simon.

It is mostly a joke, but serves a dual purpose.

GEEZER will be MIA...

...for a while. I have a testing day at Summit Point tomorrow, and Friday thru Monday will be towing down to Carolina Motorsports Park, racing on the weekend, and towing back to Virginia. Hence I'll be out of play until Monday evening.

I think Thorne will be spending the time in his quarters preparing for his evening with Inara...meditating, brushing teeth, and such.

If anyone needs MAL for anything, please feel free to go right ahead and put words in his mouth.

Mercedes, have you ever seen the movie "Soldier" with Kurt Russell? Merz reminds of him. He was trained as a soldier from the time he was a little kid...efficient, doing what was ordered, not knowing how to interact with society as a whole. You should rent it, if you haven't seen it.

Capn, I think Raven's comment about not knowing who was in Simon's brain was because Brink doesn't have any idea who Niska is, not because Raven doesn't know. But that's just my take on it. Also, I send your magnet out to you next week. It's Spring Break, so we won't have to deal with school stuff.

Hey Ciara -

I was just thinking... During the NH vacation, I wanted to put in a visit between Rowan and her sister, Aislin. But as the sisters never really got on well, perhaps Inara could play a part in getting them together.

Also, Rowan will need to consult the companion about make up options to cover whatever's left of the eye injury when they reach NH. She'll have one scar to show for her little battle with Niska.

I saw Jeannette Lee play on ESPN2 last night. She's freaking AWESOME!!!

Taping her matches today and tomorrow too, so I can lend some authenticity to the tournament highlights.

And she wants to be an actress - hummm, wonder if she would do a cameo in the 'trailer' for DragonFly that will shooting in the fall. Yes, I do mean as Rowan! If Channain is OK with that.

Ok, I'll keep my eyes open for an opportunity to bring the subject up. Damon will be leaving the infimery next post and will continue looking for the box of straps. After that he'll be taking it to the bridge to work on the chairs. Maybe if they meet up there he can ask about where she learned her engineering skills or something and we can take it from there.
