Well, firstly im new here so I suppose I should say Hi. Hi!

Now where in the 'verse have I been for the past few years? Ive somehow completely stayed under the radar of the firefly series and serenity the movie.

It all began awhile back when Serenity was released in the movies. I actually saw a movie review of it praising it but for some strange reason didnt go to see it. Then I was browsing a dvd store about a month ago and saw it, bought it right away. I then watched it and was in awe.. it was sci-fi as I'd never seen it.. for some reason I wanted more?! So I chatted to a random mate on msn and he informed me 'dood where have you been.? theres a whole series before the movie' I was shocked!

Bought it the next day, and from the first episode (the real pilot) I've been hooked. I watched probably 4episodes in a row. Then 2 the next day. Then I started to talk about it with other mates who informed me Australian TV broadcasted it years ago (LATENIGHT).... and they were avid viewers of it geees talk about missing out. I then hopped on here and found out all the info about fox cancelling the show.. hence I decided to span out the dvds and watch them one or two episodes a week (wanted to extend the fun). I just finished watching the last episode last night and damnit I want more...

Anyways, so thats what brings me to this point in time.

You have come to the right place! We all love it just as much as you do.. and we want more!

First off, you're a Browncoat now and every Browncoat gets a 'coat of their own....

We are all working very hard to convince Universal to make us another movie..we got lots of stuff lined up to do.. take a look at the Browncoat Events Forum to the right on the front page.. there is a list there. You'll find lots of campaigns in there to be part of.

This is gonna go on all Summer of Serenity long too.. and beyond. Til there are enough of us that TPTB can't say no to us!

Make your self to home, because you are TRULY home. I love this shiny place and I hope you will too. There will be folks along to offer you food and drink and to tell you that they feel exactly the way you do. It's lots of fun.. and after pining for more of our crew it's a haven.

yeah, it was too bad that Australian TV ran Firefly so late at night, a lot of people missed it (that is what VCRs are for...but still)
Will you be able to see Serenity on the big screen around June 23rd? You wouldn't want to miss that (if they are having a screening anywhere near you)

And don't miss out on the comics...
the second series of 'Serenity' comics are supposed to be released in early 2007, but there are plenty of fun things to keep you occupied until then!

Welcome FFSerenity from a fellow Australian Firefly lover. This is indeed a lovely place to feel at home and to find out what is going on in the 'verse.

There are Charity Screenings (for Joss Whedon's favourite charity Equality Now) happening in Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney so far. I will be going to see the BDM (that's Big Damn Movie) on the big screen (for the 5 time)!

Actually I just readup on the whole aussie limited edition tinbox / slipcover versions or the version where u get a mousepad.. and i got neither!!! =( I guess all the hardcore aussie fans have taken them all during the 4months its been out.. =(

Hey FFSerenity! I am a Melbourne born and bred browncoat and wanted to say hi too! I'm going to the BDM (YAY - Big Damn Movie on the Big Damn Screen for the first time) and I only discovered the 'Verse about a month ago! I just bought a copy of the movie at Sanity for $14.95 ... it's wrong, I know, but so right for my pitiful purse! (not much cashy money coming my way at the moment!)

I only saw Serenity the movie a few days ago for the first time and I am still coming to termw with the developments... my poor Wash!

If you're a Melbourne based Browncoat join us at Forest Hill on Friday 23rd!! If not, then there are events in Sydney and Adelaide I think!

Im in Sydney, and ive already noticed there is a viewing at george street. So I'll hopefully be going to that.. and ive decided to start hunting for a limited edition tinbox version of the dvd (though i want a hd-dvd version) does anyone know if they are limited also?.. dont wanna get 2 copies of the same version... heh.
