I've become a fan of Firefly only six months ago. I feel no end to the guilt of missing the show when it was on the air. (D&%M YOU FOX!)
However, I am now in the mood to do all I can to help further the cause. Hell, I've already made my friends watch the entire series and even managed to convert a few to the cause themselves!
I've signed the two petitions I could find on the site and I plan on waiting to buy Serenity on June 23.
That's all the info I could locate on my own in this very in depth site.
Any other suggestions or advice to alleve my guilt and make me feel less useless?

Sit down for a spell lunch is a cooking in the pantry area. Got a right shiny feast as usual in there. We got a whole bunch of Shiny people around this here place. FollowMal will be here in a bit to hand you your Browncoat!!!! This is a community that will be with ya through thick and thin. Sounds like you have a good start, just keep converting people to the series and promoting the series and movie. Enjoy the site!!!

Welcome to the site and the ranks of the faithful WhimsicalinBrainpan! Glad to have you here with us. Make yourself at home.

Since you're all fired up to do something, keep on spreading the word. That is what has gotten us this far, and it will take us further still. Sharing the show with friends is a good start. Getting new people interested and making them fans is the key. Selling the movie DVD so we drive up the profits for Universal is the next part. The more fans we get and the more DVDs we sell, the better our shot at a future for our beloved 'verse.

Be sure to keep spreading the word. Hand out fliers (you can find some real shiny ones here: http://the11thhour.home.att.net/ ), host viewing parties, join local Firefly groups to organize events, visit message boards to talk up the show, etc. There is a host of ways to get the word out to the uninitiated.

Welcome here, we're weird.

Ok, first off, there's the movie. Watch Serenity, buy Serenity, get your friends to buy Serenity, tell people about Serenity, all of that stuff. That's where you can do the most good.

Other than spreading the word there's not a whole lot you can do, however in an effort to spread the word and raise money for charity there will be charity screenings of Serenity (someone will come with a link) and in an effort to make sure the word spreads to Universal there is a plan to stage a Serenity Day of DVD buying, I'm sure someone will also come and tell you why that is such a good idea, you must already know somewhat because you said you're already planning on taking part.

People can probably tell you more stuff you can do to help the cause which I know not of.

As for where you've just landed, well you've come to a place that's more than just bits of data, it's more because of the people here, people who are open and friendly and ... stuff, people who will welcome you with a combination of open arms and fresh fruit (try the strawberries) they'll do this because they're family, and you're family.

No guilt allowed here - we're not the idiots who cancelled the show! Just kick back and enjoy the site. There lots of fun folks. It may not be as good as a new series, but at least we share your pain.

Try the mudder's milk, it helps sooth the grief.

WOW! This has only been up for a bit and I already feel the love! :) Shiny!
BTW: Thanks for the props on the name...took me a little bit to come up with it.
Sounds like Serenity Day is where the money's at.
I live right next to a VERY large university, just graduated from it in fact, and I'll post some flyers about rallying browncoats for Serenity Day.
Believe me when I tell you I've been telling people about Firefly. I can't believe this show was allowed to be tossed off the air. Such an amazingly well-written show...alright, enough talking about it or I'll start fuming again.
The passion about it is what keeps me going though.

Adding my hello and welcome home.. this place is home to all browncoats!!!

The only other thing you might want to check out are the RiverTam sessions.. very good and very creepy.. someone will be along with the link... and FollowMal willbe along with your virtual coat.. while you wait, have some Mudder's milk...hehehe tho you may find that it's next week before you realize it!!

I hear that the second set of Serenity comics probably won't come out until early 2007,
but in the mean time we got screenings and shindigs and all kinds of fun conventions...
even a big Browncoats Ball this Fall in San Francisco!
