Some names that came up in this thread a bit...Shield, Babylon-5, Farscpae, the Expanse, Deadwood, Fringe, Weeds, Red Dwarf, Dr Who, Battlestar Galactica, Dark Matter
There is debate about 'Game of Thrones' I watched some of the show and already read some of the books so I kind of know how morbid and back stabbing and degenerate the series would go. It was one of those tv events everyone wanted you to watch, there is still debate if the show is 'great' or not, the early episodes I seen were good but I don't think I will finish the show. Therre is debate in this thread if comicbook shows are good or not....maybe...but there could be over saturation
Hollywood Tv and movies seem dead now and the writers strike arrived and actors strikes arrives

My old man was one of the people telling me I needed to watch Game of Thrones.
After the last season came out though, he told me not to waste my time.
It's funny you mention that because I just watched this video yesterday:
I'd already been watching Ryan George videos for quite a while before he originally made that one (4 years ago now). It's interesting hearing him say that he was looking for a way to end his Pitch Meeting series at the time, but to this day the Game of Thrones Season 8 Pitch Meeting video is his highest watched video by far and brought him a ton more subscribers after it went viral so he's still doing them today.

I might try Cobra Kai, I think if I binge watch it would be fun but dumb a show that doesn't take itself to serious or go up its own ass like 'Game of Thrones' , Breaking Bad, Dexter, Handmaid's Tale, Lost, Dr Who remakes and others.

It's very entertaining but to comapre it to anything doesn't really work, its a weird show, very Japanese maybe wacky elements of Who Framed Roger Rabbit or Atlantis The Lost Empire, Castle in the Sky, Epic, Treasure Planet with some Robin Hood, The Adventures of Tintin, 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea, there is maybe a little 'John Carter' Marvel DC superhero stuff but in its own Japanese way, maybe more like tv shows Our Flag Means Death, Treasure Island 2012, Pirates of the Caribbean. I guess its like a KungFu / Samurai action series, it can violent but also be childlike with escapism but at the same time being a 'Pirate' show while also part scifi Fanasty 'Steampunk' but with unique humor.

The era of 'great' classic tv seems to be over and replaced by news, elections and other political nonsense, some old brands are still around True Detective is one every talks of and People raved and ranted about period pieces Downtown Abbey, Boardwalk Empire I'm not sure if they are binge worthy but I might try some old shows, Penny Dreadful, The Americans, Orphan Black, The Leftovers, ‘Mr. Robot’ or ‘Fargo’ ‘Banshee’ or 'Justified' however despite all that I would probably give the new Daredevil or Penguin a watch. The time for scifi tv seems over now.

You ever watch Justified or Fargo?
I give Justified high ratings. If you watch a preview of it and think that it would be to your liking I can't imagine that you'd not enjoy it.
I only saw 2 seasons of Fargo. I loved the 1st season. I don't really remember much about the second season, but I'm sure it was alright. I was drinking quite heavily at that point. I never watched really any TV after that because it was around the time I quit drinking and watching TV and movies.
I remember my brother got me to watch Mr. Robot around that time too. I do think I liked it, but I don't remember whether I finished watching the season or not, nor could I tell you how many seasons it had or if the story ever finished.
Justified did have a satisfactory conclusion, and you probably already know, but at least the first 2 seasons of Fargo were their own stories, and though they probably had some easter eggs in the later seasons that rewarded fans of the show who saw the previous seasons, that's a show I wouldn't worry about being cancelled before they finished it.

If you didn't care for season 1 of The Boys, you're probably not going to like the rest of it. It's still enjoyable enough of a show, but if I wasn't watching it with my old man and my brother I might not have continued on with it since it's just more of the same thing really, and I think the first season was better than the rest so far. It's an upper mid-tier show, IMO.
Wandavision looked like it should have been really good. I really liked the initial concept. But it's woke trash like the rest of the shit on Disney+, run by DEI showrunners.

I hear they ruined 'The Witcher' but animation seems to be coming back and what I seen of Arcane was fun
episodic vs long running story? I liked the first season of The Mandalorian but will also watch Simpsons if its on tv,
they say it will be all Asia now
Deadwood is within binge length maybe I will finish it and binge watch. Tv used to be more easily binged, the V the mini series, original Trek, North and South miniseries, the original Twilight Zone, the original tv Outer Limits, Firefly, Band of Brothers...maybe this was still VHS time? then everyone started to have a DVD player in their Playstation or Xbox or Computer if they wanted one or not, internet speeds got faster and a few mins of clips got uploaded online but shows would keep going on longer and longer, while the season episodes got shorter from 24 eps per season down to maybe 8 or less
90s tv Twin Peaks and Millennium an Xfiles spin off was binge length
Somewhere along tv years the wars, the ratings, the tv channels in contest, the stand up comedy shows, the Reagan, Clinton, Bush Obama years tv became once again like a never ending variety show to draw viewers in forever, it got long and drawn out like a long scifi drama or like old Dallas, The Walking Dead, Charmed, Buffy, Grey's Anatomy or JJ Abrams 'Lost'
Many of the Binge stuff people talk about now is Asia, a South Korea product beating Hollywood like 'Squid Games' etc
The Walking Dead is what something like 12 years of tv seasons?

Watched a season of Justified and a season of Fargo, really enjoyed them but didn't watch beyond that it is very rare for me to watch a second season of anything. Scifi probably started to die in 2004-2006 I think tv started to die in the Obama years, 2013–16
Everything went into crime and drugs and dark and gritty, no more wonder in scifi.
Banshee is another kinda like Justified a bad guy picks up a badge starts posing as a cop and slowly starts trying to do better as his past catches up with him, NZ actor from 'The Boys' Antony Starr is in it. MrRobot was enjoyable but again only watched a season.
Shows like Lost or Game of Thrones went on too long to be Binge-Worthy and anyone who finished says its not worth it.

Did anybody in the world actually make it to the end of The Walking Dead?
That was a great show... until it wasn't.
I think Breaking Bad should be looked at as the model for the perfect, bingable show. It started with the premise that he was going to die from terminal cancer. It did itself the favor of never removing that inevitability in order to make 12 seasons. It only ran for 5 seasons and the ending was perfect.
I thought Deadwood was great too, but the ending left quite a bit to be desired. Somewhere around the 3rd or 4th to last episode was the actual climax of the show, and they could have ended it there, but they had some kind of boring episodes after that, obviously leading up to something that was never made. I've never sat down and watched it again after the movie came out (and didn't see the movie), but my old man was a huge fan of Timothy Olyphant and I got him to watch it after the movie was made. He liked it, but he said that the movie was uneven. It was just way too many years after the show ended that they finally got around to wrapping that up. The movie was not the story that they had originally intended to follow those last few episodes up with.
Deadwood is worth the watch if you feel the desire and have time to continue on with it.
Fargo should be pretty easy for you. Each season is completely self-contained and you don't need to have seen the previous season, nor do you need to worry about watching the next season if you want to try season 2.
That brings up a good idea that I remember floated around in the mid to late 2000's. The idea of a single season show. I don't think they ever really did that because they're so afraid to make new things that once something is popular they can't just let it die after one season. That was right around the time of Heroes. That first season was excellent. Blame the writer's strike if you'd like for the increasingly poor quality of the show as time went on, but if it was just a one season show it would still be celebrated today.
Speaking of Asians (although it was made in the US), I recently watched Beef which has almost exclusively an Asian cast. It's a netflix show. I really liked it. I can't imagine they'd make a season 2 of that. I mean, anything is possible and they very well could do that, but I don't think I'd watch it. The story completed its arc, and it did it well.
I decided that I just wanted to watch one episode per night maximum and not sit and binge watch anything. That was pretty easy to do for the first 4 episodes as the background of the characters were established and the story was being built. But I have to admit the last night that I watched it I started with episode 5 and immediately watched episode 6. I did other things for an hour or two and then I watched the last two episodes.

I attempted it once. You're not wrong.
I watched all of the very uneven movies first. Then I watched the entire run of Deep Space 9. That was probably my problem. I know most people probably wouldn't agree with me, but of all the Trek I've ever watched I consider DS9 the best Star Trek. It just had the best characters and stories.
I made it a few seasons into Voyager and got bored. Made it a few seasons into Enterprise and got bored. I don't think I got past season one of TNG. I didn't even bother with the original because, come on man... I'm not watching a high school play. I know it was revolutionary for the time, but I just can't.
These really aren't binging shows unless you're a die hard fan. They weren't designed to be. They were made long before binging shows was even a thing people did.
I think the episodic nature and lack therof is one of the big reasons that I preferred DS9 to everything else. While it still maintained much of the structure of all the other series, it also had quite a lot of overarching narratives taking place, even from day one. You still had the goofy one-off episodes in between, even as the stakes were getting higher, and I always appreciate those episodes.
I think I probably could have made it all the way through Enterprise without any problems if it hadn't been the last series I tried. At that point I had already had the entire run of DS9, several seasons of a few other shows and all 12 or so movies still digesting and I was just burnt out on Trek is all. I could probably watch TNG as well and maybe even Voyager, but I think I'd have to find a list of must-watch episodes for the first few seasons and skip the rest of them until the big overarching narratives really start taking shape to ever finish them.
I was actually disappointed that I couldn't get into Voyager. To this day it's my old man's favorite Trek and one of his favorite series of all time (he has yet to watch DS9 though). It was the only Trek show I actually watched from week to week starting the day it premiered. But I was in high school and quickly lost interest in that maybe midway through season 2. I thought for sure I'd love it enough to get through it but I yawned.
