My sister and her hubs are back from Tokyo!! We're having a pleasant time visiting. Son likes their two dogs very much. They're taking a leisurely trip back to DC, where they'll live for a year before moving to Turkey for three years. Why is there no pout emoticon..? We made pizza tonight. I did one with cauliflower, tomatoes, and curry powder. Not bad! It would have been wonderful with some potato and spinach on it. Son just got back from a baseball game with grandpa. There were fireworks! We're taking him to a karate lesson tomorrow to see how he likes it. I have been proclaimed the dirt diva at his school. I find myself put in charge of getting lots of dirt put into ruts in the lawn at the new space to make it safe for kids to run around on. Any leftover dirt stays in a big pile for the kids to play in!

I just finished dipping things in chocolate today. Peanut butter filled pretzel nuggets and espresso beans! Everything I'm bringing to the Con is wearing a brown coat. Kidlet helped, and he had a blast! I made tomato soup from scratch and got a thumbs up for my efforts. It's a cold rainy day here. Feels like Fall blew in two days ago without preamble. I just found out my rank insignia for the parade are both incorrect and technically not high enough. Sigh and try again. Maybe I can exchange them.. I'm trying to sew shades and drapes for the living room. I think it will work. Just turned several things pink in the wash inadvertently, it has been quite some time since I did that. I decided that the offending dye donor was never going to stop bleeding onto other things (after being obtained second hand over ten years ago) and was worn and scruffy enough to go into the bin. I'll just have to make a quilt or convince hubby to knit another throw to replace it. Darn. Heard from the real estate agent yesterday, things are looking up, after they were looking down but nobody wanted to panic me so we were not advised until the dust settled. The kerfuffle and staring contest is now over, our lawyer won. (God I love that woman!) We're getting the windows repaired, except the real estate agents are covering the cost of about $200, which was quite a pleasant surprise. They're going ahead and ordering the septic dye test and well quality test, once those are acceptable we are good to close! This is the part where we start crossing our fingers, knocking on wood, and holding our breath 'lest some unforseen strangeness of freak bad luck occur. The well has always been just fine, and the septic system has never given us a problem. That's why I'm worried. Took the day off sick today as I could not send the boy child to the child care center (you really do not want to know), and it was a wonderful thing. An unscheduled day without a clear plan to putter around in is quite refreshing sometimes.
