Well, I've been meaning to fill this blank space for *ages* and now I have an excuse! *fanfare* I have a new website. Yup, a brand new website created by little me. There's not a whole pile on there. Just my Firefly/Serenity animations which, okay, is actually a lot when I think about it. It's mostly the smaller stuff as google has a habit of saving my larger stuff as still images instead of animations - I'm still trying to fix that! The site address is www.desktophippie.com Can you believe nobody else out there wanted desktophippie.com? How crazy are they! The site is hosted by Yahoo!Geocities, so it may be a little clunky. Nine of them, to be exact. At least that's how many people have signed my guestbook in the six days www.desktophippie.com has been up and running. Nine whole friends! And only one of them is related to me! *is happy* I've been fine tuning the website since it started up and I'm pretty happy with how it's turned out. Trying to remember my HTML has been an education, and if a web designer saw my code he'd probably fall off his chair laughing. As well as this and my full time job, I've been asked to write an article for www.courses.ie about TEFL courses. I'll be sure to post the link here when I'm done. And on top of THAT I'm replying to all the letters and postcards I received through the browncoat post! Hopefully they should be on the way soon. Hopefully!

The Irish Sci-Fi scene lost one of it's well known members late last week. Dave Stewart, an avid sci-fi fan and member involved with some of Ireland's best known conventions, lost his battle with cancer. Dave's death came just before Octocon, the National Irish Sci-Fi Convention, and cast something of a pall over the event. He will be deeply missed. On a brighter note - People have sent me messages over the last week and I've been terrible and haven't replied! I'm very, very, very, VERY sorry and I'm hoping to reply to all the messages by Wednesday at the very latest. Sorry!
