The Official Firefly Website finally tossed out a bit of info for us wanting fans to chew on. Brett, their resident spy on the set is no more, having moved onto the frontlines to work with the Firefly writers on a more permanent basis. The new official spy is now Kelly. Let me just add that, personally, I prefer female spies over male spies any day. Female spies look good kicking ass. I have no doubt that she'll do her utmost in acquiring whatever morsels of info she can for us.

Okay, on to the bits. The latest info from Kelly is that Firefly now has three more writers to churn the creative juices. They are Ben Edlund, Jose Molina, and Cheryl Cain. A quick look at IMDB reveals that Ben Edlund previously worked with Joss Whedon on Titan A.E.. In addition, Edlund also created the comic book series, The Tick, and was the executive producer of the failed TV series of the same name which aired on FOX last season. Jose Molina, who we all know by now, is from the cancelled Dark Angel TV series. And Cheryl Cain, probably the least experienced of the new writers, wrote the episode River Dog for Roswell.

We're also told that Firefly production designer Carey Meyer's sandbox just grew larger. According to Kelly, Firefly added another soundstage to their existing two, which by the way were used to house the sets for the Serenity for the shooting of the original pilot. With all that stuff, coupled with the fantastic CGI that the team at Radium are working on, Firefly is going to be one hell of a mind-blowing series to ogle at.

But wait. We all know sets and special effects are not the most important things in Firefly, right? This is, after all, a Joss Whedon series. It's the storytelling and emotions it evokes that count. It's what Whedon and his staff of writers can make us feel about the characters that matters most. I'm sure, with all the talents behind the series, we're gonna be in awe in both vision and heart come Fall. Can you wait? I can't.
