Like history repeating itself, since the closure of the Official Firefly Forum last week by FOX, fans have been scrambling over the net in search of a new home. Rest assured, Firefly fans, Mutant Enemy CEO Chris Buchanan is working on bringing the Official Firefly Forum back online.

"As Mutant Enemy was given no notice of the board’s closure, we were just as blindsided by this development as the fans were," said Buchanan in an email to FIREFLYFANS.NET. "I am personally making it my mission to reopen the board as soon as possible, even if it is only temporary, to give us & the fans time to figure out how to migrate the official board elsewhere."

Hang tight. The Official Firefly Forum will take flight again.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Though I applaud Chris's effort, I doubt Fox will be very accomodating in reopening the forum.

Honestly I am surprised that Fox left it open as long as they did after they cancelled Firefly. The fact that they closed it down without notice is pretty typical of how they handle business, so that did not surprise me at all.

I would guess it was one thing for Fox to continue to leave open a forum for a cancelled show, and another thing entirely for them to continue to support a forum for what is now another studio's project. Even so, I don't think it would have killed them to give a week or so notice that they were planning to shut it down.

most networks can be polite that way. others, not so much. I'm thinking since the movie is being done by Universal that gorram fox is figuring it's not their baby anymore. unless there's some strange corporate connection between them - I'm not too saavy on that sort of thing. any chance some kind of forum might be opening up courtesy of Universal?

Actually, i have a feeling that fux was simply cleaning house, so to speak, as just a week or two before they closed the Official Forums for other shows from last season they either cancelled or chose not to renew, including but not limited to the Fastlane and Keen Eddie Official Forums. They most likely were making more room on their website for :censored: like 'Pardise Hotel,' 'Temptation Island 3,' and 'Divorce Stories.' In any case, I hope y'all get your home back soon. Oh, yeah... gorram fox!

Oh, my God! Who's flying this thing? Oh, right, that would be me...
