According to Kelly's latest entry on the Official Firefly Website, the yet untitled episode following Out of Gas, will go into a bit more details about what happened to River at the Academy, the Alliance's special research center for the gifted. This ep looks to be a little more interesting than the first two. Which I did enjoy, but which lacks the sense of, well, immersion I got from the pilot.

I have to comment that I'm very glad Rebecca Gayheart bailed. Morena Baccarin is perfect as Inara, and Gayheart just doesn't have the same screen presence.
