Like the title says, the 2013 Backwoods bash raised a record amount for Middleway House of Bloomington (Indiana). Middleway is the local Shelter for abused Women and Children. All the proceeds received at the Bash went to support their fine programs.

A great time was had by all. We had a costume contest, games and songs, and general misbehavior one would expect at a Browncoat Shindig. If you couldn't make it, take heart:
The NEXT Browncoats Backwoods Bash will be Saturday Sept 20, 2014. It will be held in the same place, Lower Cascades Park, Bloomington IN. 2014 will find us in the Sycamore Shelter, right across the street from a Tibetan Buddhist Monastery. How Shiny is that???

Xie-xie to all who attended, and thanks to the swag sources: Firefly Cargo Bay, QMx, and private contributors. Thanks too for the contributions of Geoff Mandel and the other Artists who donated pieces for the Auction.

Keep Flyin'!

Tim (TD) Brown, "The Cap'n"

For those who REALLY like to plan ahead:

The NEXT Browncoat Backwoods Bash (#7) will be Saturday, Sept 20th 2014. It will be at the Sycamore Shelter in LOwer Cascades Park, Bloomington IN from 11am to 7/8pm. The shelter is across the Street from a Tibetan Buddhist Monastery... How cool is that??

Thanks, FollowMal. I keep hoping to see posts about other Grassroots events connected with Firefly/Serenity. CSTS is an international Event in it's scope and it's goal. KNTR is becoming a national Charity in it's scope and influence. I hope our little Charity Picnic can serve as an example of what can be done to help Local Charities, the ones that struggle to do good in our own neighborhoods. In the past 6 years the 'Bash has raised over $5,000 for the local Women's Shelter. This was accomplished by folks who just wanted to share their love for the Sereniverse... and eat a few hot dogs.

To all those that do good works while supporting the Love of the 'Verse, I salute you.... and thank you.
