I'm loving everything about it, it is full of surprises (I totally fell for the big misdirect)

Previously I had been thinking that Angel: AtF was way more dire than BtVS S8, but that has really kicked into high gear!

(I'm loving Spike: AtF too!)

So far it's got it's moments. Though I had a hard time figuring out a lot of part two because Fray's sister looked an awful lot like Buffy to me and that bit was maybe a flashback and all making me all confuzzled. Am waiting for more to see how I really feel about it.

Angel/Spike hasn't quite made it to the level of awesome of Buffy in my opinion though they have been improving. I haven't made it down to the comic shop for the latest A. yet so maybe I'm behind the curve on that.

Not yet. Never read any of the Fray comics, so this is all new to me. And as a time travel story, it hasn't wowed me yet.

I have to admit that I think Dawn is totally sexy as a centaur, and I loved the exchange between her and Xander. "LET GO OF MY HAIR!!";"I'M HOLDING ONTO YOUR MANE!!";"MY MANE IS MY HAIR!!"

And her as the villain in the future intrigues me to no end, as well as her comment about the Slayer's eventually disbanding since they can't work together. Touches on what I would like to see, that Buffy isn't the natural born leader as she makes herself out to be.

I'm enjoying it--I've enjoyed the whole season so far, for the most part. But right now I'm enjoying this arc mainly because I'm a big fan of "Fray", and it's great to see that world again--NOT because of anything that's happened in these two issues. On the other hand, when you compare it to the first three arcs, this has been pretty much the way things have gone: the first couple of issues set the stage, and then all the action happens in the second two issues. I compare a 4-issue arc to the equivalent of one ep of the TV show, so for that reason, I don't judge them on the individual issues, but instead wait for the arc to conclude first, THEN make judgements.

That said, I totally fell for the mis-direct, too, but wish it had been much more 'direct', and much less 'mis-'. So much better if Harth's playmate been who we were supposed to think it was, rather than who it actually turned out to be. I'll wait and see where this goes before hammering it, but right now, I'm worried that we're just re-hashing storylines that have already been done before...

And the art... Well, I loved Moline's work on "Fray", and he's still great with the "Fray" elements, but the "Buffy" characters? Not so much (except for Dawn--he does an awesome Dawn

). Just talking about this with someone else a few days ago, and the consensus we came up with is that Moline is fantastic with action scenes (and his own, original "Fray" characters), but Jeanty totally kicks his ass on the likenesses (again, except for Dawn) and subtlety of facial expressions. I'm very happy Moline's doing this arc, because it wouldn't be the world of "Fray" without him, but I'm just as happy that he's NOT doing the rest of S8...

I didn't like season eight at first, but I'm coming around to the developments introduced. I'm enjoying Twilight thus far and extremely curious to see who he/she really is.
