Buffy Season 2 starts off well from Season 1, but the central part of it comes when Buffy and Angel are getting along so well, and then Boom! Angel is a vampire without a soul again and Buffy's crushed.

I don't know about any of you but I feel very sorry for Buffy. She's a tragic figure in this show. She's a super hero of a sorts, but she never gets to be a kid even though she tries so hard to be one. All her other friends can have normal relationship, and normal futures to look forward too, but Buffy only has Vampire and demon slayage to look forward too until she dies. I feel so sorry for Buffy.

How could Angel be so cold and cruel to her? How was it possible that Buffy stayed so strong after he turned back into Mr Mean? If that had happened to me I would have been crushed. Buffy is so strong. A strong, tragic super heroine.

Just a thought about certain aspects of Season 2.

Oh...Xero's back again. Gonna call Buffy a whore now?

Just yankin' ya. Anyway, I've always loved Angelus, and I think you'll grow to love him to.

What's a woman like you doing watching a kiddie soap opera? Don't you have better things to do with your life?

"kiddie soap opera"?
What kind of childhood did you have?

I watched the episodes you're watching when they originally aired. Waiting in agony as a story unfolded unlike any I had ever seen on television. It forever changed the way I viewed the medium.
If you're watching for the first time, avoid spoilers, and enjoy. It's quite a journey. I envy you.

Once you've been in Serenity, you never leave. You just learn to live there. 22

I never watched BTVS when it first came out because of its name. It sounded so high schoolish and I thought it was some teenaged sit-com, so I wasn’t going to give it the time of day. Every now and then, I would be channel surfing and I would come across an episode of Buffy, and all I would see is a small little white chick beating up these big guys. I always turned the channel.

I guess it was Firefly that did it for me. Watching those 14 episodes and getting caught up in the personal dramas of the characters. This made me wonder about the writers and directors of this show, and it made me wonder if they did any other shows that was as good as FF. That's how I found Buffy.

I'm an old person, but I love Buffy. She's a strange and tragic super heroine. The universe she lives in does not include in it her happiness at all. Every episode I've watched so far always ends with something, some joy being removed from Buffy's life. I feel for this character in a heart-felt way. I am also very much addicted to this show.

I've watched Buffy on and off since I was four, now borrowing parts of the Chosen collection.

I've always preferred Angel to Buffy. (Character, not show. Although both are equal.)
I always thought Buffy was a little over-tortured, only allowing her to become the hero who overcame the bad stuff.

Okay, that was a little hypocritical.

I got through the 2nd season of Angel and I stopped and started watching Buffy. I had too in order to understand all the references from Angel. I love Buffy!!!! OMG! She's so....human! That show really draws you in and all the supporting characters actually grow, and by the end of 2nd season, they all have changed dramatically from their experiences. I'm so into Buffy right now.

Firefly's also what got me into the Jossverse. I would have passed Firefly right on by...wait a minute, I did pass it on by because I never heard of it until I went to a movie called Serenity last year. Once I watched Serenity and googled firefly later on and bought the DVDs, I was hooked. It took another 6 months before I got into Buffy, but I actually didnt watch it with full attention....now I am and I love it to death. I have 5 more seasons to go!!!! I have something to look forward too!!!

Every once and a while I'll find in fiction a character that I find interesting or compelling. While that is always a delight, Buffy is different.
Buffy is a hero. The genuine article. Most people don't write hero stories because they're played out. Joss Whedon found a way to write a heroic drama and make it fresh and personal without losing any of its hero impact.
Buffy manages to be vulnerable and human, but always brave despite her weaknesses. She regularly faces overwelming odds. She fights to the death almost every night of her life.
And survives.
She wrestles with her pesonal relationships. She often flails about and stumbles. Fortunatly, the next apocalypse is always just around the corner.
She is a hero,

She's gonna have it tough that slayer. She's just a kid

I will never, ever forget how I felt watching the Buffy season two finale, Becoming II. It's an experience that's burned in my memory. I never realised before that day that watching TV could actually break your heart. I didn't get to see every episode of season two the first time around (I have since!) although thankfully I did get to see all the "big" events of that season. And Xanxder in speedos :) Still, once that episode finished I promised myself that I would never miss an episode ever again!

Which was a good choice. Season three was kickass, and remains my favourite.

As much as Becoming 2 was a heart-breaker, Amends in season 3 nearly killed me.

What a sissy-boy I am.
