The Man They Call Soul...

If you haven't seen it yet, I absolutley will not spoil it for you, but in my opinion, I just sat through one of the best hours of television I have ever sat through. I cried. I'm a guy, and I cried.

Just...wow...

That's all I can say...

Ok... I move you have your 'Guy' card revoked. At least have your status suspended.

j/k. It was pretty damn good. I still have a feeling that the writers have no clue where this is going, but they've taken a pretty broad step forward w/ the events of tonights show.

I loved it too.

Select to view spoiler:

I did not think they were going to kill Boone off. I read that the actor who got killed off did not take it well on Ask Ausiello.

I just KNEW something else was going to happen. Then again, that's why I love this show!

This wasn't my favorite episode to date, though. Lost has just spoiled me for good television.

I knew it was serious when Shannon is talking to Sayid about Boone. I'll bet there's a can of worms to follow on that subject in the story line.

I'm just dying to know whats in the hatch thing.

It would help to know exactly what episode you are talking about?

I have seen up to ep 18 and... ho hum... Its "Days of our Lives" on an desert island.

I almost cried at the sibling love thingy.. cried in horror that is :)

I was MORE impressed with the previews of coming episodes --looks like Locke is shot!!!

Also, I can kill you with my brain.

The Man They Call Soul...

Okay, no need to revoke my "guy" card. After waking up this morning, I realised that I may have overreacted about the episode last night. Yes, it was good, and yes, I teared up (what can I say, I'm an emotional guy. That's what the women love about me! ), but I now don't think it was that monumental. I'm just loving the line at the end of the episode:

Select to view spoiler:

Kate: Jack, what are you doing?
Jack: I'm going to find John Locke.

Just that look on his face when he said that. And in the trailer for the upcoming episodes, Locke gets shot!

Okay, I'm better now.

I have the strange feeling that things that happen on this island are not, for all intents and purposes, permanent (although certainly moreso than on Buffy) :).

Lost has drug on this season, and I know if they don't give some BIG answers in the next 4 episodes it will hurt them come season 2.

I'm very afraid it will become as convoluted as Alias (it took X-files twice as long to get THAT confusing...).

"Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government."

Ah, those misleading promos. Next time you see the promo, look closely. Locke is not being shot. He's is being blown backward. There is smoke rising from the ground in front of him. I'm assuming the hatch opens explosively.

I'm so glad Jack didn't torture Boone before he died.

Quote of the episode.

Huh? To each his or her own but how can you compare Lost to Days Of Our Lives? And why would you keep watching if that is how you feel? Unless you really like D.O.O.L.

How can you not see a parallel with "days of our lives"? Lost is a soap.

After 18 episodes it is moving so slowly it doesnt seem to be getting anywhere..

I guess I keep watching because I am so starved for something decent on TV, I keep hoping it'll get better.

I'll keep watching though.. maybe next week the aliens will reveal themselves and the intergalactic war will start! Then things will hot up!

yeah my friends and I were all a bit shocked by that. My take:

Select to view spoiler:

..I'm thinking it was A James Bond wedding. You know, she died very shortly after in some horrible way. Of course he tried and failed to save her. This would explain his complete unwillingness to give up on Charlie and Boone. Failing to save people sucks. I'm still curious about the episode before this one, just before the plane fell and injured Boone. He found all the little statues, then stated that the only thing on board was heroine, then broke a statue near Locke. So, before the contents of the statue were revealed, he knew it was heroine?

OK wait..... Deep Space Nine. That was a Soap Opera, that's why I quit watching it! LOST is a very complex borderline sci-fi thriller drama. Granted no episode stands alone. Everything is one huge story arc. Of course if we don't like story arcs, Then what the "cheun shu duh" are we doing claiming to be fans of The Great Joss Whedon?

LISTER

I almost stopped watching this a few weeks back, then Hurley's episode was on. If there was more Hurley the show would be a lot better. But it does move slow, mostly because half of every episode is a flashback of some sort. If they would stop with the flashbacks already and advance the plot I would be much happier, but they won't because everyone who survived did so because they are all connected by their past somewhat. I'm just caring less and less about that with each episode.

But wouldn't it be funny if there is an entire operating room inside that hatch that Jack could have used to save Boone? I'll bet something like that is in there, but it's just a small part of a bigger suprise.

Is Lost supposed to be a continuing seasonal thing, or is it a story-in-a-season like 24? When it started I though it was the latter but I'm not sure.

Did we ever find out what that giant critter was that kept knocking down the trees and making those ominous sounds ? ( hold the Hurley-using-the-restroom remarks to a minimum,ok? ) Seems like it was terrorizing the whole island, and not it's just......lost!

Nope. As Calhoun said, Locke is the only one to see the beastie and walk away from it. We haven't heard much from it in awhile. Not sure where, if anywhere, they are going with the huge monster thing.

It will be a continuing seasonal thing. There is already a release date for season 1 on DVD in September and website forums are already buzzing about season 2.
