I haven't seen anyone else mention this, but although it's stretching the 'Science Fiction' part, it's SF (speculative fiction) at least, so I figure this is the best board for it.

J.K. Rowling's announced she's completed the 6th Harry Potter books. Info at

And so far no sign of her catching Robert Jordanitis and deciding she needs another book or seven, or that maybe we would like a prequel instead of finishing the rest of the story...

She'd better hurry with the seventh one though because the movie cast will be in their late twenties playing teenagers of high school age fighting supernatural monsters, and who on earth would want to watch that? Oh, hang on...

Her Web site claims there isn't a prequel in the works, and really, I'd rather she didn't at the moment. Diana Gabaldon did that to me - published a book about one of her other characters - and hasn't finished her series yet. At least Anne MacAffrey finished the Dragonriders series before she wrote "Masterharper."

Read on the BBC news site today that the new book has already gone on to be the best seller on Amazon already with pre orders alone - ain't coming out till the summer. You think they could hurry it along a bit I have a twelve year chompin at the bit already....
