From Cinescape:

Fox Television has ordered a pilot script for a proposed science fiction TV series called DARKSIDE. The screenplay will be written by Brandon Beckner and Scott Sampila, with KAREN SISCO director/executive producer Michael Dinner, and Roundtable Entertainment's Gina Matthews and Grant Scharbo executive producing the show. Dinner will direct the pilot if Fox orders the script to go into production.

Variety described the premise of DARKSIDE as being similar in concept to ABC's hit LOST. The story concerns a team of astronauts that discover a mysterious SOS signal eminating from the dark side of the moon. After travelling to the night side of Earth's satellite there they discover a structure of unknown origin.

I wonder how long this is going to last...

A FuX series that's a complete rehash of another network's hit? I can't fathom it...

most like if it's good, & I start liking it. Fox will decide that "Who wants to Swap their Obnoxious Amish Stand-Up Comic Siamese Twin, who Desperately needs a Makeover for a Million Dollars" would be a much better investment. It's the way of the FOX. Gorram Fox!

Ummm...there is no dark side of the moon. There is a side that never faces Earth, but it's not dark all the time. Where do you figure the light is shining when it's a New Moon phase or even a crescent or gibbous? Well, on the side of the moon that doesn't face Earth. The only time that side is actually dark is when it's a Full Moon phase.

Let's hope that they won't premise the series around anything that relies on the idea that light never hits the other side of the moon. Maybe just the idea that we can't see that side with out naked eye.

Mal: "May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one."

I wonder if they will run the episodes out of order and save the Pilot for last...

Yes, because a team of Astronauts discovering a mysterious SOS signal on the moon from a structure of unknown origin is so similar in concept to a group of people marooned on an island in a planecrash.

LOL! That's probably the case.

The plot does sound interesting, and as I said, it has the posibility to go almost anywhere with that, from first contact, to a load of other things.

I'd be more interested in knowing where the writers want it to go, 'cause we know the Fox execs aren't going to let it go there.

There is no real "dark side of the moon" true. However, that is what the side that never faces Earth is called because we can't see it. It isn't meant literally but figuratively.

I don't know, the plot sounds iffy. It could go either way depending on how good the writers and actors and directors are.
