I'm not very impressed with it. Isn't the purpose of a teaser poster to tease. We've known for nearly a quarter of a century that Anakin is Vader, why "tease" us with the image.

Knowing Lucasfilm, this is just the first of MANY posters.

As far as FRSCPE1's comment, you made the point for them. We all know what the movie is about, what's there left to tease about? Is C3PO going to be primer color or gold this time????

Frankly, this is a movie that doesn't need a tease! Anikin becomes Darth Vader. The Sith rise to power and wipe out the Jedi order. We even know the basics details of how these events will happen. What is left to tease about?

The only tease at this point that would make a difference, and plant bodies into seats is, "Will this movie approach the quality of the first three movies (IV, V, VI), or at the very least (please, please, please) be better than the last two?"

I'd given some thought to movin' off the edge -- not an ideal location -- thinkin' a place in the middle.

CAPNRAHN

I do believe "Teaser" is ment as 'before the movie interest generation marketing tool'.

Not as 'teasing the audience' that Anakin is Vader.

The cool factor is supposed to be his cape forming into Vaders Helmet - much like the 'PM' poster with little Anakin casting a Vader shaped shadow.

Marketing tools aside - the franchise is dwindling into drenn ...

Huh. I'm kinda disappointed too.

It looks like a comic book cover (nothing against the SW comic covers, but I just expect something. . . I dunno, classier).

Like a revised version of the old Return of the Jedi poster (given the significance of the title itself:

Obi-Wan and Anakin in silhouette against a faint misty background, lightsabers crossed. The Revenge of the Sith logo in a "Star Wars box," like the old poster.

being a star wars fan for my whole life, I think this poster looks horrible. The person they got to do it is worse than any of the prior painters doing Star Wars theatrical posters. Whoever said it looked like a comic cover, I agree. Although I think Dave Dorman, the person who has done plenty of the star wars comic covers would have done a much better job.

Wow......that so ....sucks.
First movie I ever saw was Star Wars. Had all the stuff. figures, shirts, glasses, books, you name it. But this? That's just sad. Don't forsee myself rushing to the theatre on account of this poster.

Oh, absolutely. I'm a great fan of Dave Dorman. What I meant by the comic cover comparison is that this just looks like something that'll be replaced in a month anyway when the next issue shows up.

A movie is a bigger thing --the poster should have some kinda staying power. You should notice it every time you walk into/past a theatre.

There's just nothing noticeable about this image --you'll spot it once (maybe) 'cause you haven't seen it before, but then you'll just turn a blind eye, probably angry 'cause it's gone and replaced that particularly eye-catching poster from that other big SF movie. The one with the shiny mechanic.

I have to agree with the thumbs-down group.
This poster just isn't that cool.

Sigh, I have to agree, I would have expected something of better quality than that. That just loooks very amatuerish. I would have hoped with all the money Lucas has made over the years with the movies and ILM and LucasSound and THX that he would have been able to hire someone wiht more talent than that. I have the old Empire Strikes Back poster on my wall, I would not have that in my abode.
