Okay, so I've seen all the eps, but when did Grayza get in the family way? Is that Bracca's kid or something? Is she just way jealous of Aeryn? Help me out, folks.

You know, that's a gorram good question. Not to mention is Grayza really Sebacean? Her makeup and physiology has always suggested otherwise. She never struck me as the sort of woman who would need to impregnate herself with a commander's child to garner some manner of authority. She was more of the dominatrix variety while the series was going on. I guess if there was a flaw in the PK Wars, that would be it for me although insignificant in the grand scheme of this amazing thing.

Could it be that the actress was in the family way? I mean she did certainly LOOK realistically pregnant. Just a little more weight around the face and chin, fingers a little puffy...

SO can't wait for the DVD!

Agreed, she definitely did look pregnant. I would have to say that and

Ah yes, but wasn't it just *ROMANTIC* ? Being Browncoats, we might be just a tad bit biased on the no sound/independent motion in space. They tried to create the total illusion of weightlessness, I think. Women astronauts with long hair have the worst trouble, I think, while in space. Ever seen what they look like during the live feeds? Wait til their relatives show them the video tape and they get to see themselves looking like bushmen. Poor lasses.

It never said that she got pregnant before the series started. Plus the PK wars was only 60 days after the last episode. I know that Aeryn said that they gestate quickly, but she was pregnant for a frelling season before she had the kid, and she didn't show. Grayza looked like she was smuggling a watermelon.

It could be Crichton's. Remember back at the beginning of season 4 when Grayza was seducing John?

My immediate reaction to seeing Grayza was that it would be Crichton's child. The were in a biblical way at one point in season 4. That would certainly leave open an interesting future story where Aeryn's child is battling the bad guys only to find out he is facing his own half sibling. Just a thought....

The timing problem could be surmounted by something Aeryn said about Sebacean's being able to chose when a fertilized embryo was released to form into an actual pregnancy.

I like the theorizing. Brings up all manner of plot twists.

Still, the thought of Crichton and Grayza... bleh!

I know it did for me. I still watch Enterprise (yes, I know, it's a chick thing) and every time I hear noise in space I have to remind myself this isn't Firefly. I remember watching the latest Star Trek movie (not recommended) and getting a little uptight with all the superflouous sounds when we were outside the ship.

*SIGH* cursed. That's what I am. cursed.

No, it's not Bracca's baby. She certainly made the chancellor believe the baby ( a girl ) was his. The father is most likely John's. She raped him and he even mention it in the miniseries but you need to listen closely in Farscape. The writers are quick and so are the actors. They no how to tell you the truth and still have you looking the other way. If there is ever a continuation of the story you can bet Chricton's son and daughter will play a pivotal role. Grayza will not want John's son to live as both children would have the information for wormhole technology available at a cellular DNA level. So John and Aeryn would be likely targets to be hunted down in order to kill his son.

I do believe reading that the actress playing Graza was in her last trimester of pregancy while filming PK wars. Also if you watch the second to the last series episode, "we're so screwed, part 3" there is an exchange between Graza and John where she starts "...and I'm...." and John finishes "Frelled. Screwed. Raped." It is said with such venom that there is no doubt that John is throwing what Graza did to him back into her face.....Yah, the kid she's got there is his. Also Graza is not a front line fighter like Aeryn, her gestation could be longer. And remember how she was insistent that wormhole technology was very close to falling into PK hands in season 4? She could have been preggers already.

Yup, Rebecca Riggs gave birth not long after filming PKW was over.

Very good theory there, dewshine! Aeryn said that those females born and bred for battle, born on a command carrier, are engineered for geometric pregnancy so they're not out of commission for months and unavailable for duty. I don't recall any indication that Grayza was command carrier born, so she probably doesn't have that modification.

I don't know about the kid being John's, though, even though the tralk did rape him at the beginning of season 4. The timing could be right, though...

I know of several. The best one is here:

http://www.farscapeworld.com/

There are others, most notable is on sci-fi.com/farscape (Claudia Black posts there sometimes, as chickwithgun)

I think there is a forum at savefarscape.com also.

alright...it's been bugging me since I first heard the line...what the hell is a geometric pregnancy? I keep thinking it means the baby grows exponentially, but that doesn't quite sound right. anyone?

You are correct! Female Peacekeeper soldiers born on command carriers have been engineered for two things, reproductive-wise:

1) Stasis pregnancy - the fetus automatically goes into to stasis for up to 7 years, just in case the mother's duties don't allow for being pregnant at that time (I think they said the cells split twice and then stop)

2) Geometric pregnancy - once the stasis is released, the baby is born, fully formed, in a matter of days. That way mama isn't out of the battle ranks for too long.

Nebari mental cleansing doesn't get the tough stains out.

Thanks! For some reason my brain doesn't have trouble wraping itself around the idea that the baby's kept in stasis for seven years, but I just can't compute a whoosh-pop pregnancy.

I loved John's first reaction to it: 'we don't even have a name picked out,' not 'war is about to break out,' but 'we don't have anything to call it.'

Remember this too: Graza had the genetic modification {forgot what it was called} that allwed her the gland{s} to secret the Love Potion #9 goop she used on John ... good thing he was taking the stuff Naranti gave him to forget Ayren.

Just a thought on her supposed non-Sebacian-ness ...
