So I hear there is a movie to be made with... lord love a duck - Charlize Theron!

Who got hurt at work recently...

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - "Aeon Flux" is back in action.
The Paramount Pictures/ MTV project will resume shooting on Monday, Oct. 4 after halting production earlier this month due to an injury sustained by the film's star, Charlize Theron, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

During a trampoline stunt, Theron hurt her neck when she fell and slipped a disc while on set in Berlin in late August. The Oscar winner was flown back to Los Angeles for treatment and recovery.

-----------------------------------------------

I remember the cartoons fondly and I'm surprised there is a movie to come out, with this Oscar Winning actress.

I smell a Tomb Raider franchise!

Gotta say; what frellin' crap that such talent goes into yet another boring pop-corn movie. But hey, that's how you make money in Hollywoodland.. you whore it.

I wonder if anyone is looking forward to this. Or are you like me and just see the crass commercial machinations turning. Goddess but I'd kill myself if I thought it would force talented people to just walk away.

I am! I was so excited when I read this was being made. Kind of disappointed in Charlize Theron cast as Aeon though, but oh well. I've seen a few pictures and at least they got her hair right! LOL!

Liquid television rocked.

^^^ lol! Great, can't say I didn't watch Tomb Raider only to see Angelina grace the silver screen. Heck, I could watch her eat a sandwich for 2 hours and I'd still pay $9.

Funny you aren't groovin' on Charlize Theron as Aeon. Why is that? Anyone you prefer or is there a personality to Aeon you want to see come through?

Oh speaking of liquid TV - I'm a huge Richard Sala fan.

Well she's ok I guess... but Aeon was such an Amazon! Plus she was really big busted and Charlize is miss mosquito bites. Also, Charlize has a rounded, kinda baby face, and Aeon was all angles.

Watch, she'll probably kick ass in the role, but the physical differences kinda threw me.

I'm just glad its being made at all. I hope its dark like the 'toon was...

Hmm, isn't that book just a brainwashing trigger used by the CIA when murdering British singers... oh, I've said too much. *runs to lock all the doors and put on a tinfoil hat... for the rays that come from under the ground!*

Thanks for that est120, I should pay more attention to your posts, especially the ones making connections in Angel eps. You're the best. :)

Dark, you mean you hope Aeon dies every 4 minutes? Yep, rather dark!

Gah.

First of all, two movies is not a "franchise." And two Incredibly sty movies is even less of a franchise. They hired directors with already-proved-to-be questionable talent, each movie had about 18 screenwriters (always a bad sign) and yes, though I WOULD watch Angelia Jolie picking out floor tile, that doesn't mean I'll pay $9 to a lazy movie studio, for whatever crap du jour just because she's in it.

Whereas the screenwriters of "Flux" are mostly unproven, I think director Karyn Kusama had a flair for the visual, in her low-budget "Girlfight." However, other directors have been crushed beneath the weight of a gigantic budget and CGI, so it could go the other way. The difference here being, Charlize picks even more diverse roles than Angelina, so this movie will have to be AWESOME, plus outperform the weak Tomb Raider box office, for there to be any sequels at all.

A trilogy, though, is a bare minimum for a franchise, every time.

Good points all, though I believe a franchise is created from the beginning. They would never make even one of these movies if they didn't see sequels being made for 10 years after... and more.

And thanks for mentioning "Girl Fight" director Karyn Kusama. Mainly because it made me think of Michelle Rodriguez. Who is just freaky hot.

On THAT, we can agree.

Resident Evil had me drooling all over the floor... blonde? what blonde ? ::drool::

But then, I've liked the archetype ever since Vasquez in Aliens (verrry badazz chick)

And she can act, too! (unlike the blonde in RE)

Yea, I loved Michelle in Resident Evil, but hey, I loved Mila Jovovich too. Her english is almost perfect, certainly makes one wonder what Ahhhnooolds problem is. lol!

Michelle was all teeth and fire in Resident Evil, and I didn't connect this character and Vasquez in ALIENS, but good call - I'll mull that one. Michelles' presence onscreen chewed up the air in RE! Mila is great but I think one needs to really be good to stand out with Michelle around. And she did I think but it was a struggle.

Man, so sad I had to sell my Resident Evil DVD for smokes last summer. *sigh*

But let's not forget Mila in The Fifth Element, she was particularly intriguing.

? You know, I don't see this with Angelina Jolie, between movies she lets it all out *chuckle*. Ever notice? We aren't talking about Friends! *chuckle*, but I see your point. Thank the Goddess that Joss Whedon understands what men find sexy and has the balls to say to his actress - GAIN a few pounds.

Kaylee .. we love her. :)

And I still find Gillian Anderson shabazzy.
